Popped into Brew & Chew for lunch one day when I happened to be in Perth.
It was a sunny day and the entire front wall of the cafe was open to the street, the seamless transitition between the outside seating area and the interior lending a very relaxed and continental feel.
I had a sweet chilli chicken panini, and let me assure you, dear reader, there was plenty of chicken with my sweet chilli; no skimping on fillings here. The ingredients were fresh and tasty, and the presentation was good.
I did not have a dog with me, but the single canine patron who was in attendance spent most of the time napping contentedly under a table after tucking into their own lunch of dog food and water.
There was a varied selection of home made cakes and scones available for purchase; I couldn't resist taking a toffee and banana scone for the road, not least because it was a flavour of scone I had not previously experienced.
The prices were very reasonable, and more than fair considering the clear effort and care taken in serving fresh and good quality food.
The small, single occupant, toilet at the rear of the premises was very clean, if basic. The hand drier in particular was very good, and didn't so much blow the water off my hands, as blow it into somewhere next week.
I'm not in Perth often, but I'll certainly keep this place in mind when I am. Next time I might aim to be there for breakfast, which according to the menu, finishes at 11.30am. If the rest of the food is anything to go by, it'll...
Read moreA very small place right by the city centre of Perth, Brew And Chew did leave an impression on me. First off, they offered a very good latte unlike many cafes do. It was on point. Secondly, the tart was just amazing! I was in a jeopardy as to what I should order with my coffee but now, looking back at it, I know I made the right choice and the waitress was kind enough to explain me the whole menu, which added to my decision making factor. To wrap it out, it's a pet friendly cafe! Just when you thought that how your experience can get better! There were three pet dogs when I was there and it was a joy to watch them play! So it's a must to place for you all who do not have a pet. I'm glad I chose to go there and not any regular...
Read moreHad read about this wee cafe online while researching places to eat that were dog-friendly in Perth, and happy to say it didn't disappoint! We only wanted a light snack and a hot drink so it was ideal. Our pooch Bella was offered a biscuit as soon as we sat down, and they even give their four-legged customers a blanket to lie down on - they have a dog menu too! Sadly they were all out of cupcakes and cookies by the time we got there, but Bella didn't seem to mind and loved her sausage. The only suggestion I have is that I wish it were bigger! Service was great, everyone really friendly, and the food was delicious too. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for a dog-friendly cafe...
