The pier as always very busy on a nice day The town is very busy at the moment with tourists from around the world . A lot from the US think they are all here for the open golf championship which is getting played here this year . The Harbour and pier always attract lots of tourists as it's a pleasant safe walk along the pier which is quite broad and safe to walk along . There is a small cafe in the harbour and is called the Harbour cafe which sells meals Or just snacks and chips and toys for the children kites, spades, pails ,ect The cafe has been owned by the same lady for more years than I care to remember now Her name is Pat and has worked at cooking The food in the cafe and makes the famous Tattie and leek soup which also has been served for as long as I can remember It's a working harbour mainly landing crabs And lobsters the amount of fishing boats like in most small fishing towns now are making way for pleasure boats and yachts But it's a pleasant and worthwhile time to take a walk down to the harbour and away from the golf course for something ...

I visited here nearly 17 years ago as a tourist. Now that we moved to Scotland, I had to visit again. It's been a few years since I've heard the roar of the ocean and smelled fresh sea air...so it was great to stand there and watch the gulls play and the waves roll in. The pier was great fun to walk out on, and the birds are for sure not scared of humans. Great for photos and just taking in Sea air. The ruins above are a great backdrop as well. Can't wait for lockdown to drop and weather to be a tad warmer to get out an...

It has a magnetic pull. A beautiful rugged landmark. Walking out gives you a wonderful view on both sides of this ancient and scenic coast. I love to watch the flow of the tide from here as it races in. Not the most obvious town to find working fishing boats. Adds real substance and character to the area. My own favourite part of this...

The pier is very pretty only slightly detracted by the fishy smell that seems to follow you everywhere. There is a small café which sells simple meals and snacks. The beach nearby is similarly pleasant with a park not too far away. The pier has some fantastic character and is a great place for a day out if you happen to be nearby.

A fairly peaceful walk along the pier, or, along the top, if it's not too windy, rough sea. Pop into the wee cafe, for a roll, chips and a hot chocolate, dogs are allowed, or sit outside and watch the boats in the harbour. Don't feed the seagulls, or you'll get attacked by millions, OK, ten, but will feel like it.
