Leaving a 1 star review because 0 stars isn’t an option! I have been to Stanley park many times before usually to the skate park or with family to the play park however, yesterday me and my friend thought it would be nice on our day trip to the otherwise lovely park, to have a go on the peddle boats on the boating lake, only to find the place is run by a child no older than 13. What we witnessed next is appalling! We paid £10 for our 30 minute peddle boat ride to then wait for over half an hour watching people who arrived after us go before us to then find that after they’d closed all the boats other than two motor boats that they’d forgotten us so we had to downgrade from 30 minutes to 15 minutes as we now had to use the motor boat and were told to hurry up on our ride and weren’t even offered a refund or an apology at all! Not to mention the abhorrent state of the boat that we were on as well, littered with rubbish and muck, you could just tell they never get cleaned. We also watched as this young boy gave a group of teenage girls free tickets for use of their e-cigarette. Overall I found the place to be extremely poorly run and would not recommend this experience to anyone. Aside from the boating lake we found Stanley Park to be a great location for a day out and it’s especially great for...

I take my 2dogs to Stanley park every day for walk/run for couple of hours. I always adhere to the rules keeping my dogs on a lead especially in the Italian gardens. Today, a guy was letting his dog run around in the fountain in the Italian gardens, 2 council workers were tending to the flower beds and took no notice. I sat by the lake a short while later and the same guy allowed his dog to jump into the lake in amongst the swans etc... He didn't care about the swans, ducks etc...and a 2nd dog was running along with him and i assumed it was with him, this other dog jumped into the lake, but couldn't get out and the guy had walked off. I had no way of leaving my 2dogs to give the dog in the water any help, luckily 2 women walked past saw the dog was having trouble getting out and helped him. Surely the council should do something about allowing dogs in the water, and start fineing ppl as the signs state if a dog is not on a lead then £1000 could be issued, but nothing about dogs in the waters. Please sort something before a...

The drive upto the car park is impressive, wrought iron gates and a tree lined avenue. To the left the impressive rose garden an amphitheatre of colour. On the right the pitch and putt golf course and at the very end is the magnificent art deco cafè were afternoon teas are a speciality. The cafe also serves hot meals, sandwiches and cakes, plus it's licensed too if you require an alcohol infusion. Walk out of the front of the café and there Infront is the fountain and either side of the steps down to that are bronze lions on stone plinths. To the left of the fountain is a very impressive boating lake with walks around it. Once down to the lake on the right is a bandstand with seating infront which has music playing throughout the summer months. A great green space only a short distance from Blackpool town centre. It is also convenient for Blackpool zoo.

We visit here regularly and it's a wonderful park. So much to see and do. The play area is huge and suitable for all ages and abilities. There is even a swing for disabled children. The sand pit there is also great for children. The gardens are very well maintained and the flower displays glorious. The cafe is grand and the menu is varied. Our favourite area is the lake itself. On last count we spotted 53 swans! Amazing after what happened there with bird flu. Obviously very happy birds. If you follow their page on Facebook you will be able to see all the wonderful events they have on in the park. There is something for everyone, from live music to book clubs and dog walking groups. In the school holidays this is ramped up to the max for the children and we enjoyed a few of the events such as a lovely little circus skills session a few days ago.
