Great pub, lovely owners and staff. Had a lovely Sunday Roast, 3 meats, 3 types of potatoes, 2 types of stuffing, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire's, 4 types of veg, gravy and sauces, not forgetting the lovely home made soup to start. All served piping hot and very presentable. Could not fault it. Have popped back in for the lunch time special (over 60s) 2 coarses for £4.95 what's not to like, the sausage and mash was really really good with ice cream to follow. Wish we lived nearby as I would make this lovely pub my local.

My experience here follows the expected from a typical English pub. Outdoor seating included several 8 person benches without rain-cover, or separately a marquee that had rows of seats in shelter. Two security personnel are stood, one for each section of the outdoor seating. This would infer that it is a rough place, but it seems that most pubs are having two security on, especially on weekends.

Ordering drinks had been reasonably slow, however we opted to order multiple rounds at a time as it was clear they were understaffed in terms of +18 staff capable of preparing drinks.

The atmosphere was lively, friendly conversations and a regular stream of people in and out, interactive security and down to earth staff that were easy to talk to.

Having also visited here pre-lockdown, the pool table space is often available and makes for a casual night in the pub, along with the dart board, but at the moment we are not allowed inside to use these.

I would definitely recommend visiting if you are looking for a casual, typical English pub night of drinking. If you come with this as your expectation then you should not be...

Saw an advertisement for a Burns Night Supper, 3 course meal and a 'wee dram' on arrival. 2 choices for starter, 3 choices for main, 2 choices for dessert. Booked a table 2 weeks in advance with a £5 deposit pp and gave our food choices. The event was last night and the tables were all laid out with tartan tablecloths. The food was delivered to the table, all hot and on hot plates. We were all encouraged to read out parts of the Burns Poem 'Address to a Haggis' with the other diners. It's was all in good fun, and everyone joined in. There was themed music playing all night in the background. There was great attention to detail for the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed the night and the food was excellent. All the staff worked incredibly hard, and the night was a success. Will definitely look out for more...

Food was lovely and customer service skills were excellent kept doing check backs it was busy with a great atmosphere , even when we left they acknowledged us and said have a great holiday...have travelled many times past the road when staying at the hotel and didn't know it was there , we will certainly be calling again and I will definitely mention it when I go back to work and anyone says they are staying in the area. What I call a proper pub keep doing what...
