I purchased a game at the store on the 18/07/18. After being reassured by the staff that it was the correct game and that if it is not correct I can return it and recieve a full refund (ALARM BELLS SHOULD'VE BEEN RINGING). Arriving home finding out it is not the correct game so I returned the next day to inform them and recieve a full refund. After speaking to the untrained, uneducated BOY behind the counter I was passed onto an obnoxious, plump middle aged woman with the initials of JD who was introduced as the store manager who was rude, uncompromising, unhelpful who is unaware of CEX's own returns policy issued me with a credit note for a shop where I am never going to purchase any products from again.This woman professing to be a manager obviously does not understand the rules and policies regarding the shop. I wonder if she actually understands the rules and regulations of trading standards. I suggest some retraining is immediately required; customer service skills, returns policies, dealing with the public face to face. After further investigation, I have been advised that a device that was traded-in by you was reported as lost or stolen. Considering it is not fit for purpose, I'm afraid the ban on your account cannot be removed.
It is company policy to ban membership accounts that are used to trade in phones that are reported as lost or stolen or have been network blocked so they cannot be used to make or receive calls or send or receive text messages on any network at a later date (ie after they have been sold to us).
Unfortunately, there is nothing more we can do in this case. I bought the phone from new and gave you box phone and receipt and newer attempted to commit any crime . It is impossible to contact you...
Read moreAwful customer service! It’s like some of the staff would rather be anywhere but there. They huff and puff when you take a item there to sell considering that’s the backbone of the buisness, selling 2nd hand gaming goods. Nearly all the time you have to wait a while in thr line with 4-5 staff behind the counter. And when you take items there to sell they say they don’t have cash! When it is advertised outside the shop! They will try get you take a bank transfer where you could wait up to 3 days when they have had your goods. Hope other Cex stores aren’t as bad as this one. Don’t get we wrong there one or two nice and polite staff members but the rest should think about their customer experience they provide...
