The staff here have become incredibly useless when it comes to providing the already overpriced food. Me and my wife enjoy the variety of hotdogs here but multiple times we have had young staff deny us what we want on the menu because "they don't know how to do it".
The staff clearly have menu cards around their necks to tell them what to do for food prep but they are just uncooperative and lazy for some reason.
This last time after negotiating for them to make us two large hot dogs (my wife only wanted mustard and ketchup and I like the New Yorker) they began a conversation with some old man who seemed to be their boss about breaks.
Due to just standing their holding a sausage with tongs and not paying attention for the 3 minutes it took to talk about allocated breaks, they dropped the hotdog on the dirty counter and had the gawl to put it back on the cooker as if the heat would kill the years of grime that sits on it.
This is the third time at this establishment that the staff have been questionable instead of being trained beforehand or properly while on the job.
If the managers stopped hanging around the bar area and actually paid attention to improving their main serving staff then maybe we wouldn't be writing this review.
The cinema already costs and absolute fortune to go to and charging airport food prices for below subpar service and food handling is...
Read moreThe cinema isn't quite what it used to be... I remember when I was a young person going to the cinema was an event, akin to flying on an airplane or something else that makes me sound old. Now, the front box office is gone and people mostly print out their own tickets or buy them at the hot dog stand in the centre. They still have a person who takes your ticket but the side entrances to the screens are not manned and if you felt so inclined you could just waltz on in with no ticket (like we used to go screen hopping, again back in the day).
The food is largely overpriced but frankly if you can afford the cinema these days, you can afford the nachos and pick n mix to go with it. Meerkat movies does help bring the midweek cost down however and still let's you upgrade to the 'premium' seats. I cynically add the inverted commas because let's face it, they aren't that premium: more premium economy rather than first class.
All in all a great evening's entertainment, screen was a good size, I didn't have a tall person sat in front of me and the sound quality was excellent. I'd like to go back again soon, we'll just have to save up first. Or maybe we can duck down the side and hope we...
Read more1 staff member a bit rude. While attempting to pay for the food the card machine was playing up. My wife had already taken 1 popcorn and two drink cups to go fill them up, my son came over to pick up the other popcorn and the guy serving me, (chunky guy with a mask on) told him sternly to "put it down it's not paid for" after about 10 more seconds he said we would have to move to another till as the till was playing up, I asked if I had authorisation to move the popcorn and remaining items down to the next till and he gave me a dirty look and sigh.
Food is pricy but the drinks are scandalous!!!!! Almost £5 for a regular sized coke with no refills allowed. The cup has a microchip on the bottom that gets activated hen you pay for it, I genuinely thought it would have atleast 3 refills as the cup is not even very big.
When I return I will never buy food there again. Ridiculous prices that genuinely spoil the experience of going to the cinema. Just over £30 for 4 drinks and 2 popcorns....
