Update: August 25th 2021 - After a week of the Wetherspoons Head Office and Team claiming they don't have our money and stating that we would have to take it up with our banks. In a final attempt to get our money back before filing legal action, I informed them that I would be discussing the matter with the Financial Conduct Authority.
What Happens? They refunded our money immediately. Thankyou for final doing the right thing and giving back our money. That said it shouldn't have taken so long and I shouldn't need to action or even discuss legal action before you return the money. Which was withheld from us without due cause and for a fault that you have accepted liability for. And not even an apology.
Anyway Folks, I stand by my original review - so please approach with caution ⚠️
One to Avoid Guys...
A 1 Star Review is extremely generous here. As we took our family and Friends here for Tea whilst visiting Telford for the weekend.
We Sat outside and ordered on their App to reduce footfall inside to help them reduce covid-19 transmission etc.
On submitting our orders totalling over £70, on their App it stated that, "Unfortunately, there has been an error processing your payment". This the same for 2 separate orders placed at the same time, shortly after 18:00hrs, today 14th August 2021.
The money for both mine and my friends orders has now been removed from our available funds and the restaurant Manager refused to upheld our order saying, "Its not our fault that the App isn't working correctly, and we don't have the money - So we are not completing your order". Implying that it was our fault as customers that their App has faulted.
Absolutely ridiculous response from them and unacceptable rude behaviour from the Manager.
Now we have to fight with our banks to recover the monies, so that we can feed the kids for the evening - not an easy task at this time of Day on a Saturday.
I also asked for the name of the manager so that I can take it up with their Head Office, and he refused to even give that.
So if you are travelling in the Area, think twice before considering this place as a place to eat and definitely don't use their App to order, as you are likely to be left out of pocket without...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. Awful atmosphere and experience. Jobsworth doorman - who clearly couldn't understand the law of physics. Refused me entry, after only just ordering my 1 and only drink, as I was vaping outside. About 1 foot from the sign that stated 'No Smoking Area'. After reminding the doorman, I was in fact in the correct area and was not in the area with the sign. The so called manager who was on duty, and I do say that lightly, decided to grab My bag from the table leaving my partner very confused!! And then tip my 1 drunk away! As in her words 'had to take the word of the doorman'
When are we going to stand up to these bullies! I was with another female outside the premises, when the 'doorman' decided this was a perfect time to show off his little masculinity! I have come across many doorman at The Thomas Botfield Telford. All have been very friendly and polite. They have been a joy to speak to! And make us females feel a little more comfortable. Tonight was the complete opposite.. A bully. An arrogant jobs worth.
I was vaping, outside the smoking area. Past the sign that said No Smoking Area. I no one's way, obstructing no one. Blowing my vape in no one's direction.

Read moreAbosolutely disgusting service and attitude. We went in a party of 8 for breakfast around 10am. 2 of us ordered our food first. Later after we sat down they said there's no poached egg would I like something else. (How can there be no poached eggs? Is it pre cooked or what). Anyway I changed to scrambled and also paid for an extra fried on another fried breakfast. 30 mins later the rest of our party had finished their food and we were still waiting for ours. I asked a member of staff to see what had happened. They said it's because the food we placed were in ticket order ( that's a lie because I ordered my food first in our party) then when the fried breakfast turned up the extra egg I ordered was missing. All I had for an explanation ws "do you want to speak to our manager" do these staff not have a brain of their own. If they had reimbursed me then I would be totally satisfied and definitely come back again but now I will never step foot in here or recommend any friends and family. When I go for a meal with a group I don't want to watch them eat then vice versa them...
