BEWARE: THEY SENT ME A DISCOUNT VOUCHER, THEN CHARGED ME FULL PRICE.
Didn't honour discount they promised me and terrible attitude of their customer service team
Hollywood bowl sent me a 50% discount code in return for answering a survey.
I booked another session with a family of 5 simply to use the discount.
The booking went through but at no time did it say I wouldn't recieve the discount. First time I knew was after it had took the full amount from my card.
I rang customer services to cancel and was told no.
Hollywood bowl fraudulently conned me into rebooking and paying full price.
I'm absolutely disgusted with the accusatory attitude of their customer services both on the phone and by email. They blatantly did not want to listen, and it was obvious they were not at all prepared to even consider giving me the discount they used to entice me to rebook.
My questions are
If the code wasn't valid with my booking, why wasn't I told while making the booking that it wouldn't work. If it had let me know that, I wouldn't have continued with the booking. Why did it just take the booking without letting me know I would be charged full price? Why wasn't I allowed to cancel the booking? It's a scam, but hey ho, it's my karma to be ripped off and they've helped me expiate it, so thank you to them really. It's also some terrible bad karma created for Hollywood bowl. No doubt they lose thousands of customers through similar circumstances.
I will never use Hollywood bowl again.

Awful simply awful way to deal with customers, no wonder they have such bad reviews everywhere.

I received DM from Hollywood Bowl
a DM telling me that they refuse to honour the voucher.
A Refusal to answer any of my questions just a copy and paste of some T&C's and a blank refusal to listen to what I was saying

I have no issues with the Hollywood Bowl as such and (used to) visit at least once a month with Grandchildren to Bowl and go on arcade machines.
Yesterday, I used my Monzo card to get change to purchase £10 worth of tickets to allow grandchildren to use the arcade games.
The Monzo transaction completed but no change dispensed. The display did something strange and then rebooted I think.
I made the Duty Supervisor aware about the issue and as she is considerably younger than me seemingly had the solution straight away and announced that actually it is a Monzo pending transaction and no money would be dispensed until it had gone through. WRONG - It had gone through as it was not greyed out and did not say pending.
Interestingly, that would mean that the change dispenser machine was inoperable for anyone else whilst my Monzo account did its thing.
Anyway, it was not a pending transaction Hollywood Bowl definitely took £10 from me and I absolutely got nothing in return! The transaction is showing in my Monzo account has competed.
I left details and was told if the machine was £10 up then they would refund me and contact me. Well, as expected no contact made and certainly no refund. It was a meaningless gesture and though not unexpected was certainly disappointing.
I fully get that there is no proof that I never took £10 worth of change from the machine and tried to blag a extra £10 from them but I can honestly say that is not the case.
£10 is neither here nor there to me but too some people it will be.

Read moreMyself, partner and son visited on Sunday. On arrival we went to the desk and paid for 1 game of bowling, we asked if someone would help us set it up which they agreed to do. No one came over, we went back to the desk and asked again and still no one came over in the end we asked the other family playing next to us to assist us. After our game of bowling we decided to get something to eat and drink, according to the menu you can order at the food counter, bar or by lane service. We went to the bar as both myself and partner wanted a alcoholic drink but when i asked for a fruit shoot i was told i would have to get this from the food counter. I went to the food counter and bought a fruit shoot and ordered our food, 1 x bagette, 1 x adult burger with no mayo, 1 x childs burger with cheese. 40 minutes later we still hadn't had our food, i went back to the food counter to ask where our food was to be told that there is a long delay in food as they had a party in, i asked why i hadn't been told this when i ordered and the reply was there wasn't one when i ordered! Eventually when our food turned up i noticed my son's burger didn't have cheese on it so i took it back and there was no apology and all they done was put a slice of un cooked cheese in the roll in top of the burger, upon returning to the table my partners burger was missing the salad but had mayo in it ( i had asked for no mayo when ordering) and my bagette was meant to come with crisps and they were no where to be seen.
