Visited M&S vanguard York with a friend. I normally do all my shopping there and visit the cafe almost every day.. Never again! Took my friend to the cafe because she's disabled and felt funny so I got us tea and coffee. She still felt shakey so I told her to eat the salad box she had in her bag, a jumped up blond old grass table cleaner called.. DEBS... reported her for eating her own food to the manager, remember her name people she's called DEBS! she stood next to our table pretending to clean it telling him.. They're here!! Along comes some jumped up idiot telling us not even the staff can eat their own food in the cafe, I explained the situation to him to just repeat himself. Absolutely shocking. That cleaner and the so called manager should be sacked!!!!
I'm currently reporting this to other professional bodies. I will never again spend my money with Mark's and Spencer.
Avoid this place.
Lookout for the silly response to this review from M&S, they will just try to justify their actions instead of being sympathetic towards a disabled woman who wasn't feeling well.
SHOCKING AVOID.
NO EXCUSES FOR THE WAY WE...
Read moreLove this place, so convenient, always plenty of parking and 2 entrances.
The shop is on 2 levels and things are very well spaced out with regard to everything. The food hall is on the ground level only.
The food hall has everything you could need from frozen items to free from, a brilliant bakery, a very good selection of cheese and other chilled items. I can't think of anything I've not been able to get there.
Within the M&S store as well as the food hall, they have clothing, homestore, Opticians and a café definitely worth visiting.
There is also a Next and various eating places such as Prezzo, Costa, Mama Doreen's Emporium etc.
Just further down the road one way is Monks Cross Shopping Park and a Sainsbury's and an Asda.
Behind Vanguard, just a short walk, is...
Read moreParking system here is a scam. What kind of shopping/leisure multi-outlet centre fines its customers for staying longer than two hours? No wonder John Lewis left - it is designed to discourage customers. You can get your registration plate validated for longer if you prove you've spent money there but there are multiple rules even around that. Eg if you go to the bowling and park at the front of the bowling, rather than at the side of it, that doesn't count. Apparently that's a different car park altogether. Despite them both being called Vangarde and both owned by the same company (Oakgate Group, whose MD Richard France is coining it in via his stake in Make It York, which receives council money for...
