A second visit to this Prezzo in 2 weeks, just to use up our Tesco vouchers before they expired... We had 30 quid to get rid of so thought would just do a quick Pizza while in York. What a disappointment (again) Ordered the 'NEW' Mushroom pizza and a Pepperoni Pizza. Well it was a case of 'Hunt the mushroom'! Scantly placed tiny button heads was all you got. Probably 8-10 of them over th entire (mushroom') pizza. Pepperoni was OK, but the crust of both Pizzas was almost to the point of Raw dough inside the crust. My wife asked for some Balsamic vinegar, but was told they don't do it... But An offer of accompaniment sauces was made instead and I opted for a garlic mayonnaise one. Well it arrived in a tiny dish that a pet mouse would drink out of. Anyway, we needed to go, I informed the young lad server that the Mushroom label on the Pizza was shocking.... He made a light hearted quip that it was previously called something else... Also, explained the nearly raw dough issue of which it just wasn't taken on board or any offer to compensate in any way... I stood by the till to pay and noted a couple eating at the table next to the till had cut all their crusts off their 2 Pizzas so clearly there was a trend here. I pointed this out to the server and it prompted the words... Oh yes looks like it..!!! Clearly untrained, I wasn't getting through. The bill should have been £30 and he said the voucher covered that but still £1.50 to pay for the mouse portion of Garlic mayo... Which wasn't mentioned that there was a charge... I questioned it and embarrassingly he said would wave the 1.50 due to the raw crust... I really couldn't stand there wasting my day any longer and left. Shocking experience of utter rubbish ..... I hope the other couple cutting their raw Crusts off gave them...
Read moreAvoid this restaurant at all costs. Think bad, then think egregious!!!! How this place is still functioning is a mystery. It is portraying itself as a restaurant when really it is a comedy show, that's not really funny. I ordered draught beer. They had ran out of draught beer so I was offered bottled beer. I did not want bottled beer. My wife ordered a pizza with goats cheese to be told that they had ran out of goats cheese but she could have it with mozzarella instead. The pizza already had mozzarella on it. My meatball starter came cold. Chilled cold!!!! It was taken back and replaced. I was informed that it was freshly made but it was not as I could see the black pepper on it that I'd applied before starting to eat it when I discovered that the starter was cold. Also the bread that came with it was burnt. This starter had been warmed under a grill or had been microwaved and the bread put under a grill before been sent back out. There were lots of "is everything ok" from the servers. We just smiled politely and said yes, it wasn't their fault. The servers though had no personality or people skills. There was never a really sorry but we do not have any draught beer or sorry we have no goats cheese, can I please offer you another vegetarian option from our menu. Nothing. I know it's a rant but we won't be going back here. The chef was ringing the bell for service as his food piled up on the counter not a hot plate and it took ages for staff to go to service. One of the staff members walked in with a M & S bag as they are close by and I suspected that she had been shopping for supplies. The end is in sight for this particular restaurant and I will not be surprised to discover this news soon. No customer service response...
Read moreCame out for a family meal with intention of going to the cinema afterwards. Friendly lady seated us ( think she was the manager). After about 25 minutes I went to find her to say that no-one had even taken our drinks order. She came and did it (and the food order at the same time) - We finally got our drinks 30 minutes after arriving. When the food finally arrived I asked if they had forgotten us and she said no. I pointed out that one couple who came in after us had finished their meal and left. She said that they had pasta so it was quicker. Can't help thinking that if my Chicken Saltimbocca had been ordered 20 minutes earlier that would have speeded things up.
I was disappointed with the Saltimbocca but that was more just a bad choice. My daughters spinach and ricotta cannelloni was a generous portion and delicious. The chicken burgers were enjoyed.
Once finished I eventually went (after about 20+ minutes) to find the girl to point out that no- one had cleared our table or offered us the dessert menu. This was particularly annoying given the earlier poor service. I felt as if we were in an invisibility pod as people round about us were being attended to. While the girl was apologetic and "disappointed" it was a really disappointing trip out. While we got 2 for 1 via Tastecard it wasn't worth the money - and we...
