The most beautiful well kept park I've ever visited. While my daughter was doing an ultra marathon we stopped at the park as it was her 1st pitstop, me and the 2 girls (my dogs) walked round every inch of the park and loved every second, firstly most of the walks are under the trees so it's lovely and cool, the paths are flat and very well cared for, the railings around the river that entwines through the park are very close together so safe for young children to run free. There are 3 children's play areas and they were beautiful and amazing, zip wires, tyre swings, trampolines everything a child could want. Huge football fields full of children playing with there dads while mummies ran round after the toddlers, every blade of grass was cut to perfection, every path clean and tidy and not one dog poo spotted in the 6 hours I spent there. There is a great little real coffee (and tea) stand at one entrance and I was served by a lovely young lady who made me feel like I was her only customer! A great car park at the front of the park and only £7 for the whole day and one half is under trees so your car is shaded. I honestly cannot recommend this park highly enough even for day out and a picnic or a romantic walk through its...

Had a lovely visit to this park. The only thing was the aggressive man in the kiosk outside Ambleside FC and just before entry to the park. I had just run Wansfell Pike and had already purchased cold drinks in the town. I very politely asked him where the nearest chippy was and he gave me directions but very abruptly. I returned to eat my food and sat on a log in the shade in this lovely park. I did her him "shut up"repeatedly at car park user's. I then placed my can and chip tray in a bin outside the kiosk and was rudely accosted by this man who informed me this was his private bin. I apologised and said I didnt know and he replied that he did shout at me. I didn't hear this first shout. He also informed me that it was private land heading past his kiosk (this was not a direction I was planning to go) I respectfully suggested I removed my rubbish from his private bin but he said to leave it. I removed it anyway and politely asked him where the nearest public bin was. He was quite monosyllabic and said "top of the car park" I thanked him and made my way there to deposit my rubbish. May I suggest a career change for this man who is clearly not suited to...

This is an outstanding play park and we visited with the kids every single day of our week in Ambleside - they would have stayed all day if they could. There is a huge rocky outcrop that they can climb and play on as well as a big variety of swings, slides etc. I watched a game of football for an hour when Ambleside were playing at home and I also did the parkrun here on Saturday (3 and a bit laps, some of it on grass) It's a quality place with great views, lovely location. Wish it...

Trip to Carlisle . What a loverly surprise to find such a clean and tidy city having come from the South West and Bath. Plus nit just Carlisle but the Lakes in general. A trip to the castle was a must. 2hours was not enough even though it was quite and we had a private tour from Mathew. Thank you Matt. There us a lot to take in if you are interested in your history. Cafe fare is a little disappointing but the tea was nice and needed as it was a cold day
