Spent a couple of days in Ambleside over Easter and chose this B&B.
The owners are lovely and helpful, can't do enough for you! Gave good tips on walking routes around nearby fells. I arrived early and they were happy to look after my bags and things so I could go for a wander, and they got my room ready early for me which was kind of them. They provided a packed lunch as well (£5) which I thought was a nice touch and saved a lot of fuss for me, and I was treated to a cream egg on Easter Sunday morning! They also let me leave my bag here on the last day so I could have another walk before I went home.
The room was really clean, the shower was great as well (much better water pressure than my own!) lovely comfortable bed (slept like a baby). Nice and quiet as well despite being right in the middle of Ambleside, had no trouble getting to sleep with windows shut.
The food was great, lots of options and customisable. Again owners seemed happy to accommodate for anything.
Location was also great, right in the middle of Ambleside, loads of walks nearby and the bus stop just around the corner for travelling further afield.
Price was very reasonable considering the location and time of year! Next time I'm in Ambleside I will stay here again without a...

Fantastic service from the moment I called to book. Adie was out to greet us with a parking permit when we arrived and we were given a friendly, informative welcome and provided with so much information about the local area.
The entire guest house was beautifully decorated and immaculately presented - so spic and span! My husband very much enjoyed the bowls of sweets dotted about :-)
The bedroom itself was spotless, so clean and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. Adie and Mandy had even left a bottle of wine with a personalised message to which us a happy anniversary, which was such a lovely touch.
Had a great evening out with friends in Ambleside and then woke to a delicious three course breakfast (what happens on holiday stays on holiday).
A perfect holiday experience from start to finish - we will definitely be back soon. If this is the level of service and attention to detail the hosts put in for every guest then wow - they work so hard but make it seem like a breeze! Thanks for...
Read moreJust back from a one night stay at Brentfall House. What a lovely place to stay. The room was very nice. Quiet, big comfy bed with dreamy pillows ensured a perfect nights sleep. Bathroom was nice and was spotless. It was great to have somewhere free to park included, as this can be a real problem when Ambleside is busy. This was across the road near public car park so very convenient. I hadn't booked breakfast but was able to order it the day before. As a pescatarian it was so refreshing to have such a good choice of vegetarian and fish breakfast choices. I went for coffee orange juice, croissants, toast, and scrambled egg on a bagel with smoked salmon which was beautifully cooked. What makes this guest house really special is the owners who cater for your every need and make you feel very welcome. I hope to visit again in the not too distant future as this guest house is...
