Lovely little museum and library. We visited this museum to see the exhibition on Wainwright. It was about £7 to enter, and it includes free returns for a year, which is decent. There's a gift shop when you first enter the museum with lots of books in, and a few other bits. We had to park in the pay and display carpark across the road. There's toilets in the car park, plus a toilet in the museum. The exhibition on Wainwright is fantastic for anyone interested in walking/ Wainwright/ long distance walking. There's a tv with information/ short programs about Wainwright on a loop. There's lots of information, and the displays look lovely. There's also a few other exhibitions on a battle of Ambleside and Beatrix Potter at the moment. There were quite a few other people in there when we went, but it wasn't ridiculously busy. There was plenty of space to stand and move around in. It's well worth a visit. I'll be returning...

We found it very informative and were left with a thirst to know even more about Beatrix Potter. There was a chair lift that I could have used but, being stubborn I climbed the stairs to find an exhibition on Amblesides feminist legacy which was excellent and once again left me wanting to learn more, which is always good.

There was also a book launch for Peter Dale and Brandon Yems book called Wordsworths Gardens and Flowers. We did not stay for this as I was too tired but it seemed...

Very disappointed, visited specifically because of the museum's connection with Kurt Schwitters and they have put very little effort into the connection, there were four of his pieces of work on a small area of wall with window light reflecting onto the surfaces. I assume from the lack of effort or information on Schwitters that he is now out of favour with the museum which is a shame as he is a...
