Rude staff. Tiny portions. No heating on. Poorly trained staff. Very unprofessional attitude towards customers. We ordered a 'sharing' cheese platter. Which came with a tiny piece of Apricot Wensleydale and a baked camembert. The main problem was the lack of cutlery to eat it, no napkins and only a few tiny pieces of bread. We asked 'the manager' if we could have some more bread. Unfortunately she was cleary unable to handle this kind of situation and just kept repeating herself and argueing with us. We spoke to the chef who agreed that there is clearly not enough bread and that the executive chef 'loves' sourdough bread and it's really expensive! We eventually asked for a refund as we really weren't getting anywhere. Such a shame as we were looking forward to a nice birthday celebration in Guiseleys newest venue. We walked round to everybody's and probably went on to spend over £100. Finally as we left the numerous staff were laughing and jeering at the end of the bar. Absolutley disgusting. I visit a lot of bars and often eat out with a large and varied social group. I will be sure never to reccomend here after such a bad experience. BE WARNED. THE ONE POSITIVE I MUST ADD IS THAT MORRISONS IS RIGHT ON THE DOORSTEP SO IF YOU DID EVER WANT TO GO YOU COULD ALWAYS PICK UP YOUR OWN LOAF OF SOURDOUGH...
Read moreI have wanted to visit this pub for a while, looks really welcoming whenever I ha e driven past, it's a bit out of our way but we were enticed by the 50% off for offer on Thursdays. First the good points, great service from the staff, great interior, felt like a New York style pub, great menu and the pizzas were excellent.
On to the drinks, loads of key options, think there were 12 taps, however I could only see Beavertown Neck Oil which I fancied, in the end went for the cask range, looked like 5 different option. First off I had Wainwright Amber, from the first taste I recognised the slightly sour taste of uncleaned lines, decided on the second pint I went for Saltaire Cascade, same problem. We finished our food and left, certainly was ordering any more beer. I'd suggest this pub needs to regime of line cleaning, I won't be going back...
Read moreReally enjoyed the smorgasbord of food we ordered, beer is good and staff have gotten into their roles pretty well now. Rugby and football was on while we visited - while we're not interested in it, I'm happy to report volume was well controlled. We could hold a conversation without problem whilst the speakers were up enough for those who wanted it. Our second time visiting for food, and we will be back.
Edit for 2025: Drinks have become stingy, food is subpar and minimal quantity for the price, service is genuine but often rushed. It's a nice place to be but everything else has started dragging it down. Spritzes were served in micro-wine glasses, unacceptable cost saving exercises in action among both food and drink. Can't recommend anymore but I understand the issues faced by every establishment regarding...
