The Merrion Centre in Leeds is a hidden gem for those who prefer a quieter shopping experience. Located centrally, it’s just a short walk from major city attractions like the Leeds Arena. What makes the Merrion Centre particularly appealing is its lower footfall, offering a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the busier Trinity Leeds or Victoria Quarter. The centre boasts a diverse mix of stores, from fashion and beauty to unique independent shops, making it easy to find everything from essentials to one-of-a-kind items. Additionally, its services, including a supermarket, post office, and health and beauty outlets, make it a convenient spot for running errands. The presence of several cafes and eateries, along with the popular My Thai restaurant, adds to its appeal as a place to enjoy a meal or take a break. Entertainment options like the large bowling alley further enhance the centre’s attractiveness, making it a great place to unwind. The Merrion Centre’s retro architecture adds a nostalgic charm, offering a contrast to the sleek modern malls. While it could benefit from some updates, the overall vibe is welcoming and less hurried, with friendly staff adding to the experience. Parking is straightforward and affordable, adding to the centre’s convenience. Overall, the Merrion Centre is an excellent choice for those seeking a calm, community-focused shopping experience in Leeds. It may not be as flashy as other malls, but its charm, variety, and stress-free environment make it a worthy destination.

I love the Merrion centre its an old shopping centre I remember it in the 80s and The cat automation inside a large glass box that cycled and moved the cogs wheels and unmbrella. What I love about the Merrion is that its light and airy feel inside the centre with its glass geen house style roofs. They're also tables and chairs where you can sit with your own food and drink and an eclectic mix of shops from Morrisons Supermarket, Jumbo records, Vintage clothes shops, bakery and cake shops etc. It also has a homely unpretentious warm feel about it. However be careful when its raining as the sloping floor to the entrance can be slippy. Though they're warning signs. I find the sloping floor or ink line endearing. The Merrion Shopping Centre.

The Merrion Centre is a bustling hub situated at the heart of Leeds City center. offering a wide range of shops and services strating from grocery, fashion, restaurants, coffe shop, medicine, cloths, it caters to a wide range of needs. The cleanliness and accessibility add to the positive experience. While it may not be the fanciest, its practicality and variety make it a reliable destination for everyday essentials and more. Morrion is the one of the main Grocery store that's brings me to this shopping mal. There a artificial green garden in the middle of it, to take a break & relaxing. This is a beautiful place which always shine like a star. Must go n enjoyee !!

So many of these places, snack bars / restaurants etc etc don't have the common sense vision that Market Research really matters "and consequently they don't last more than a few months ( I hasten to add i`m not a businessmen and not going down the entertainment and feeding the masses or indeed the select few ) Direction ! Although I believe the newish Marco Pierre Whites is not so I understand a on hands flourish of talent ,I may be wrong but I've been told its a franchise, but my apologies if im wrong , BUT friends have eaten there and its not ( at the time ,in August I believe hitting the right money spot , I walked by tonight ( 6/10/17 ) and I see that a special very expensive steak £ 38.35 , yeah I know ....has been removed from the menu and replaced by a by royal by warrant butcher whose steaks look really nice at £ 18 approx Plus they now do a sharing platter of chicken, basically a heap of tasty looking food , BUT TO SHARE ! wow that is cheap ! at £ 25 approx , But watch the prices on wines ,most ,no ALL Restaurants really rack up there prices like in some cases 500 % I will eat there next week and check it out for you , But by all means dive in now of course if you have the cash to splash, and you want to impress a special person in your life , The name alone won't mean a damn thing of course, but the atmosphere looks cool...

So, this centre has gone through some major changes recently. It used to be the shopping centre that time forgot then the council did something that no other council has ever done- part owned and developed an arena. This meant a huge amount more business for the Merrion end of the city and hence the redevelopment. In addition to this the car park was also upgraded and Merrion House is now a huge 10 storey council building housing 2000+ staff meaning the Merrion centre is now heaving again.

What was a desolate shopping centre full of wierd shops now has trendy bars and eateries, especially facing the arena, plus the usual array of shops and outlets you would expect. Easy parking, a nightclub, and even occasional entertainment.

Well worth a visit. It is still being developed hence the four stars and inside could do with some more thought because it cannot hit the standards of Trinity. I'd come here just for the...
