I was there as part of a brass band playing to help celebrate the beginning of the Carnival. I have never been to a mass before. It was fascinating. What a beautiful church and service. The priest (I cannot remember his name but he has connections with Sunderland!) was very approachable and happy to answer questions as were all the church helpers. Fantastic old church, I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact the church DOES NOT HAVE A TOILET! How in this day and age do you visit church for an hours funeral service and not want to go to the toilet? Thank the Lord for The Tabernacle around the corner - so in the rain we went there, very nice building...
