BEWARE. CAUTION. HEALTH AND SAFETY ALERT. Pls ignore all previous reviews. It appears this park is abandoned and not looked after by the council. The pond has now dried up and literally disappeared in overgrowth. The lower playground is covered in broken glasses, cigarettes, grub and rubbish including a shopping trolley. One disappointed toddler because I didnt let him slit wrists with glass shards or see the ducks... Cause there isnt a picturesque pond nor wildlife anymore. All we saw is one fox and I didnt bother checking the sand pit area cause given the rest of the place, it is probably covered in poo.

Very nice. Has a big sand pit for the kids, a nice pond which is overlooked by a large set of seats arranged like stairs(so you can have an elevated view the higher you go). The waterfowl found in the pond are the common ones you can find in any London parks: mallard ducks, coots, Egyptian Geese, Canada geese. You can have a view of the pond from a more secluded area at the back if you either go through the woods from the entrance near Churchill theatre, or if you go around from the benches. Apart from that the gardens have aesthetic plants and flowers.

The sand area is pretty good and has a pirate ship climbing frame. The big slides are epic... and have somehow avoided being removed for health and safety reasons for 30 years! The rest of the gardens include palaces to explore and a skate park. It is however very steep on the access routes. This makes scooting a bit impossible for little ones and would be a challenge for some to walk. However you can exit to the roads at the bottom and have a more gentle climb back to the high street!

Disgraceful. Visited on Sunday, plenty of people about but clearly no attempt by other visitors to be responsible or the council to clear litter for some considerable time. There was debris everywhere. Some of the bins had been cleared but there was so much rubbish strewn around the bins, throughout the trees. The pond level was low as there hadn't been rain for a while exposing several bikes and other corroded metal objects it was clearly dangerous for the ducks who were still trying to nest amongst the discarded waste. I felt so sorry for them. I had less concerns for the local parents who were still letting their kids play amongst the discarded fast food containers in the play area. What was once obviously a well thought out gardens with lots of distinct areas is now overgrown with weeds and waste. It wouldn't take much for a local group to combine their efforts to turn this around with the backing of the council....

The grounds are a decent enough distraction from the hustle n bustle, particularly in the summer with the abundant colours and birds.

More rats and foxes apparent since the pandemic which along with inconsiderate public's litter makes it tough for the parkies to stay on top of things. They do a pretty good job though, considering. Pigeons congregate en masse at the top near the theatre, largely down to people dumping bags of bread pieces for them even though there's a sign saying feeding not permitted.

Interesting 'amphitheatre' seating overlooking a small 'stage' across a pond where activities occur at points in the year; various more secluded sections; a number of stairs to navigate but with slope alternatives for wheelchair users, albeit quite steep.

Sandpit playground area linked to a traditional type on-site, as well as tennis courts, basketball courts and a skatepark...

I used to visit here when my kids were little...it was fabulous. Now fast forward 20 odd years and today when I visited with my granddaughter, I was shocked by the tatty, dilapidated, run down park. Broken equipment fenced off, (which I was told has been like that for many weeks) filthy dirty sand in one of the play areas which must surely be a health hazard. Everything needs painting, repairing and / or replacing. The pond is ok, just, but the once proud stage where I once performed with my band is awfully abandoned to the elements. Come on Bromley...spend some money. Bring back what was once a beautiful and thriving park. It's a dreadful mess. It's been deserted by children and families and I...
