I should say the food here is excellent, totally delicious and beautifully presented, what let it down for me was the terrible service. The staff we dealt with need re-training in my opinion.

We went on Sunday for brunch, ~£40 for two. I never take off service but this was pretty bad. The first interaction with our waitress: "Drinks?", she grunted having been sat for less than 2 minutes. We asked for a bit longer, a minute or so later she returns "Drinks!?", so we get the message and pick our drinks. "Food!?" she says straight after, we haven't even had a chance to look yet, we've only been sat about 4 minutes at this point.

Our drinks then come, mine is fine, but the Bellini is disgusting, it actually tastes like something has gone off. We politely tell someone and she offers to replace it, the second one actually tastes foul, so I tell her I think something in it has gone off. She takes the drink, and barks "Mimosa!?" - for some reason this waitress is only capable of speaking in one-word questions. The mimosa ALSO tastes off. Forget it, we don't mention it again and just leave the drink.

While we're eating, it's clear the other tables around us are also getting poor service. The table next to us has been waiting so long for their dessert, they ask to cancel the order. Opposite us, a guy is sat at a table on his own, as pays the bill the waitress brings over another couple to wait by his table until he leaves awkwardly. They couple are sat on the dirty table, but then they walk out a few minutes later. Everything about the service makes it clear they're trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible.

We decide the service has been pretty rude and standoffish, so we ask to take the 12.5% discretionary off the bill so we can pay a bit less. I ask to just put £35 on the card, she then says her first full sentence of the meal "You want to take off the service!?", I nod and then she dashes off immediately to get the manager, saying he needs to approve it - no problem, I'm happy to share why I'm removing it, but no manager comes. She returns with a new bill, smacking it down on the table. A manager never comes over, and she doesn't even bother to ask what was wrong. I can only assume she knows she hasn't given good service. I mean I know asking for another minute to read the menu, and to swap a drink is annoying, but it's not exactly unreasonable. Given that she obviously doesn't care about providing service, I decide not to pay for any and leave nothing. The first time I've ever done this in my life, but honestly our waitress skulked around the place barking at people and throwing down food the whole meal. As we're leaving, I can see her complaining to another member of staff.

Here is the kicker, as we leave another waitress follows us out and asks us about the service, so I tell her. She says "Uh, well next time just tell us okay" and then goes back inside. Our waitress didn't ask, clearly didn't care, and had been standoffish about every reasonable request we had made, she hardly seemed open to constructive criticism. Though I did intend to leave a full review as I have - maybe the manager should come over and discuss next time someone asks to remove service. Perhaps whoever followed us out was a manager? It wasn't clear, but it was too late.

To anyone else thinking of going here, perhaps we just went at a bad time, but it definitely wasn't just us with bad service that day. Go for the food for sure, but be wary of the service, the staff here (on a Sunday brunch at least) just seem to want to get rid of you as quickly...

We had the most amazing wedding day (lunch meal), and truly can’t recommend Brother Marcus and their Angel team highly enough. We actually chose it after just one meal — we were wowed by the food, service, and beautiful décor (and when they found out we were venue-hunting, they even treated us to a glass of champagne — such a lovely touch!).

The space itself is stunning: perfect for a cosy, intimate London wedding. We had 40 of our nearest and dearest, and it felt just right, although you could have more guests spread across the two rooms. The team were fantastic — so attentive, professional, and genuinely warm and lovely throughout. They were also so patient and kind with the little ones zooming around the restaurant, which didn’t go unnoticed and was so appreciated!

Comms in the lead-up were super easy with Diana, who took the time to really listen to what we wanted and helped us curate the perfect food and drinks menu based on their new spring offering. They were brilliant with allergens and dietaries too (my mum has coeliac and we had a few fussy eaters, myself included!) — they went above and beyond to make sure everyone was catered for.

Now onto the food — wow. The flavours and presentation were unreal, the portions so generous, and for the price, the quality far exceeded it. They even managed to squeeze in my favourite dessert (the ice cream-filled baklava sandwich — oh my), which was such a treat and so memorable. All our guests commented on how delicious and special it all was.

The venue looked magical on the day: beautiful pink walls, warm lights, plants everywhere, wooden furniture, and elegant, simple table settings. Ulke and her team took all the stress away, setting everything up just as we hoped with my sister on hand, while adding their own artistic touch. They handled every detail — from layout out our place cards and menus to tea light candles, signs, even filling bud vases with water ready for our flowers. They even calmly took delivery of a last-minute emergency wedding cake the morning of, after our original one collapsed in transit! Nothing was too much trouble.

They let us drop things off the night before and collect them the next morning, which made everything feel easy and relaxed. Planning a wedding really was the most stressful moment of my life, and knowing the venue had it in hand, was such a huge relief, we really could sit back and enjoy our special day!

The whole day felt special from start to finish, and we feel so lucky to have celebrated in such a beautiful location, looked after by such a brilliant team. The perfect balance of being attentive, but not too much, and never leaving anyone with an empty glass! If you’re looking for the perfect spot to compliment the town hall, look no further. We can't wait to see more photos, our photographer was Laura Mac...

The staff were polite and courteous but they didn't have a clue what was going on with the food orders. We were constantly brought wrong orders to our table and one of our members was brought an alcoholic drink when she specifically asked for a non-alcoholic beverage. Post her having a small amount and not realising, she was then told by the waitress that the drink contained alcohol and they apologised. If our friend had been pregnant/religious customs/ health care issues such as overcoming an addiction, this would have been an egregious mistake. Upon giving the restaurant a second chance for dessert, we were waiting over half an hour for them to bring out two desserts for which we had to request twice about the status of our order, which unfortunately made us late for subsequent plans. Some of the drinks were also unavailable on the menu with the waitresses proceeding to tell us after bringing different drinks out as the ones we requested were unavailable. The food itself was sub-par and lacked depth of flavour. The portion sizes of a main dish were more akin of a starter, especially for the excessive pricing. To top it all off, after asking why we requested the 'discretionary' service charge to be removed, the waitress proceeded to give us some lip about being understaffed- if your restaurant is understaffed, why invite more people into the restaurant when you clearly cannot accommodate for the guests. I will be avoiding brother Marcus and it's siblings in the future and I urge all others who come across this review to do the same if you want a nice...
