I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful lunch at the Pub Camden Head, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was immediately enchanted by the quaint and warm atmosphere that enveloped the entire place. The service at the Pub Camden Head was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was memorable. From the moment I was seated, I felt welcomed and taken care of. The sitting arrangement and lighting in the pub are inviting and created a cozy ambiance. The combination of comfortable seating and soft lighting made it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Now, let's talk about the food. The starter of delicious prawns with chorizo was an absolute delight. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impeccable. It was a promising start to the meal. For the main course, I opted for the seafood risotto with salmon and prawns. The portion size was generous, and every bite was bursting with flavor. The seafood was cooked to perfection, and the risotto was creamy and rich. What made the experience even more special was the undeniable charm and hospitality of Courtney. Courtney went out of her way to ensure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Her friendliness and attentiveness made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. I am already looking forward to my next visit to the Pub Camden Head, especially to see the place in the evening as they host comedy shows. I can only imagine how the lively atmosphere and Courtney's hospitality will elevate the overall experience. Whether it's for a casual lunch or an entertaining evening, the Pub Camden Head is a must-visit.

The Camden Head in Islington never disappoints and remains a must-visit every time I’m in London. Tucked away in the lively heart of Camden Passage, this pub exudes charm with its historic exterior and cozy, laid-back vibe. The atmosphere is quintessentially British, offering a genuine local feel that’s often hard to find in such a popular part of the city. The bar offers a selection of ales, lagers, and ciders, catering to every taste, but what really stands out is the care they put into their drinks. Whether you’re after a classic pint or something a bit more artisanal, you’ll find it here, perfectly poured. The staff are friendly without being overbearing, creating the kind of welcoming environment that makes you feel like a regular even if you’ve only just arrived. And let’s not forget the entertainment—comedy nights are a real draw, bringing together locals and visitors for an evening of laughter in a setting that feels as intimate as it is vibrant. What I appreciate most, though, is the balance the Camden Head strikes. It's lively but not overwhelming, perfect for a casual evening with friends or even a solo pint if you're in the mood for some people-watching. It’s a pub that truly feels like home away from home.

We tried to find a local pub that served good food on our first day in London after arriving from Melbourne that morning. After trying another local pub and being told they don’t take same day bookings, we asked the team at Camden Head at 5pm if we could book a table for 4 for dinner at 6:30. “We will make it work” was the response. We returned at 6:30pm and the team couldn’t have been more accomodating for the 4 of us. The food was amazing but the service and customer focused attitude was what sets this venue apart from the others in the area. The beef and ale pie was one of the best we have had and the Korean chicken burger was excellent. Thanks for making our first night in London so enjoyable.

Absolutely awful experience.

This is the first time in my life I’m writing a bad review for a place, but this experience was beyond unacceptable.

We came to Camden Head to celebrate my friend’s graduation, two women in our late twenties who just finished our master’s degrees. Both our families were there, including our parents. And what happened? We were humiliated and kicked out.

My friend didn’t have her physical ID on her, but she showed her digital ID on the official UK GOV page with her photo, which is 100% legal. She’s 28 years old. They didn’t care. They refused to accept it.

We calmly asked for solutions. We said she’d stop drinking if that was the issue, and we, the rest of us, wanted to stay and continue. They refused everything. Not just the bartender, but the security and even the manager. Everyone acted like they couldn’t do anything. It was cold, robotic, and downright weird.

We said okay, we’d leave. Then they refused to even give us takeaway cups for our drinks. Why? No explanation. Just a hard no. And then, minutes after we stepped outside, they gave our big table to another group, which made it clear this wasn’t just about ID. Were we not profitable enough?

The final, we were with our 50 year-old families. And they still kicked all of us out. It wasn’t just unnecessary, it was degrading.

We asked to speak to the manager. He blamed “external security” and washed his hands of the situation. When I asked what they could do to make up for ruining the evening, no response. No apology. No accountability.

This used to be a place we liked and recommended to friends. Never again. Don’t go to this pub if you expect basic respect, decency, or empathy. We were treated like trash on a night that was supposed to mean something.

What should have been a happy night turned into a complete mess. All the money we spent? Wasted. All the effort to bring our families together? Pointless....

A disheartening change in service.

This pub has been a favourite haunt of mine for quite some time. However, my last visits were disappointing, to say the least. We decided to dine on the terrace, a preferred spot on a fine evening. Much to our chagrin, we were informed that food service is no longer provided on the terrace after 6 pm during summer. This seemed an odd policy, but we were willing to adapt.

We proposed to pick up our food from the counter, an offer that was flatly denied. The inflexibility to accommodate us, even within their new policy, was frustrating. Customer service should always include understanding and accommodating the needs of the patrons whenever possible.

Even as we tried to provide feedback on how this new policy might impact regular customers like us, we were met with a frosty and unprofessional response. We were not seeking an immediate policy change, merely expressing our thoughts in a constructive manner.

The dissatisfaction continued when I asked for a refund on our order. The process was made unnecessarily difficult, needing to request a receipt more than four times. I felt disregarded and undervalued, an unpleasant feeling for a previously regular customer.

This pub used to be a warm and welcoming place, but the shift in service has turned it into a cold, inflexible establishment. I regret to say that I no longer wish to frequent a place that lacks basic customer service courtesies and amicability. It's a shame to see such a deterioration in an otherwise...
