My mum was having a 70th birthday party, and I booked the 'RELEAF Platinum Manicure and Pedicure with the gel polish finish' for her with Nails by Mets. The initial booking process was pretty simple and straightforward, and as a guy who doesn't know a great deal about the different types of treatments on offer for women – I found it relatively easy to navigate the various treatment options on the webpage as there were clear descriptions outlining each of them displayed on the website. Upon submitting my booking, Metta came back to me fairly swiftly (within a matter of a day or so). And, during what was seemingly a busy period where she was unable to be as proactive as she might have liked to with her responses – saw fit to pre-advise me that this was the case, which was quite reassuring and something I greatly appreciated. But it was the fact that Metta left something of a lasting impression on mum, which perhaps both pleased and impressed me the most, as mum is not very easily impressed. And yet, she honestly could not stop singing Metta's praises for the wonderful job she did throughout the course of the treatment(s) and how truly relaxed she felt as a result of having in particular the pedicure. What's more, mum also happened to mention that on a personal note – she felt extremely comfortable with Metta whilst at her home, and even went as far as to say, and I quote that; "it didn't feel like I was meeting Metta for the first time, as it felt more like being in the company of a friend". I therefore have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Metta, in terms of her professionalism, the overall service she proffers and having also personally met her myself – albeit very briefly on the day of the treatment – how; personable, accommodating and enthusiastic she is and was about her work. Furthermore, mum has already discussed with her a further two bookings for forthcoming events (a graduation and an award ceremony). So, a really big thank you Metta for your hand in making it a very memorable 70th birthday, and keep up the great work! I'd lastly just say, that if you are looking for a flexible, reliable, high quality nail treatment service, I'd unreservedly recommend...
Read moreI'm a life long nail biter and I've tried many times over the years to stop but never managed to break the habit. As anyone with a similar compulsion will identify, most of the time you don't even realise you're doing it. So you can resolve to stop biting and be super determined but it's an almost involuntary reflex, and you inevitably find your fingers in your mouth without realising it, regardless of how committed you are to stopping.
After reading an article about a woman who had stopped nail biting with the help of 'false nails' I wondered if anything similar would be possible for men. The benefit of these is that they create a barrier between you and your nails. You physically can’t get to them. And all it takes is an initial few weeks to break the compulsion and you can be liberated from the habit. Sounded great, however I’m a bloke and I didn’t really fancy a set of painted nails, it’s not my style, but maybe there were ways of making them look natural?
So I searched locally and contacted a nearby nail technician who said it wouldn't work, it would look too feminine. I looked up more technicians but they all gave the same response: can't be done without looking like a feminine set of false nails.
I was almost ready to give up when I got a reply email from Metta, from Nail by Mets, saying she was confident that she could help. Brilliant! So we booked an appointment and she came to my home, much to my relief, as I didn’t fancy the embarrassment of a nail salon. And then she proceeded to work her magic. In no time at all I didn’t have mangled stumps for fingers! I was so overwhelmed. Granted, they were fake but you'd never know it by looking at them, such is Metta’s skill at crafting them.
It’s now been four weeks. Metta has been back every week or so for maintenance but now finally I’ve taken the thicker gels off, I have my real nails underneath! For the first time in 40 years I have fingernails!
I really can’t thank Metta enough for being so brilliant and helping me kick a habit of a lifetime. She’s obviously very talented at what she does; I expect painted nails take a certain level of skill but to make them look real and natural is a whole different...
Read moreMetta by name, metta by nature! I was lucky enough to come into contact with Mets through SMN Facebook group after applying to be her hand model for the day and receive a reduced price (award winning!) French manicure! Mets was very welcoming and I felt very comfortable in her presence. Her conversation had a way of making me feel very at ease whilst she diligently worked away at my nails, talking me through the stages as she went. An initial questionnaire was sent before the appointment so that she was aware of any shape preferences, medical history and general information and a reminder via text was also sent in advance of the appointment date. At the end of the treatment (and it really did feel like a treat!) she went through some nail aftercare, going through a well detailed sheet of information which I took away with me, as well as giving me some cuticle oil to look after my new nails Not a bleeding cuticle in sight plus I've had multiple compliments on my shiny, well-groomed nails up to a week later. I'm sure I'll never visit a nail shop again; I'd rather wait in line for Mets! Cannot recommend enough....
