Do yourself a favor and run away if you havenât signed your tenancy agreement with rentlondonflat yet...
I wish more real reviews had been published by the time I rent a flat with them. Unfortunately, all I found back then was all the fake reviews they have both here and in trustpilot.
Will give you a couple of examples of what our tenancy has looked like:
we rented a furnished flat and got a call from Frankie 24h prior to the check in date to ask if we were ok altering the contract and renting an unfurnished apartment instead đ of course we said not and ended up living in a completely unfurnished house for two weeks until they were able to arrange delivery of furniture.
we soon realized why they probably didnât want to give us a furnished flat in spite of our contract. They were selling the flat and of course buying furniture wasnât worth for them...our 12-month contract started on the 5th September and visits from prospective buyers started at the beginning of December. We were forced to let them show the flat sometimes even twice in a week.
flat was finally sold in April. Of course they had to wait until September to kick us out. However, AJ (our âagentâ) stopped replying to our messages after the property was sold, and left us without any kind of support or management of the property (and when I say any I mean absolutely any)
since this happened after they had sold the house and didnât need us to be nice with them anymore, the failed to provide reference twice (both for us and our housemates) when the agencies each part was using to rent a new house requested them (keep in mind this can turn out to be a serious problem unless you have a guarantoor or the money to pay several months in advance since you wonât pass the screening without references from previous agents)
Thatâs not all at all but I think you can get an idea of what to expect from...
Read moreI hope this review will help at least one person out there. I know it's a long read but this is needed to understand the full dilemma you can expect. Just avoid this company like the plague. Read the negative reviews at they are honest.
Firstly, yes this company do have some beautiful flats in their portfolio. This is certainly true, but the headache/stress you will gain from dealing with them could possibly land you in the hospital.
From the start there were issues. Promises of deep cleaning which never took place; removal of old/ cheap furniture which never took place; promises of facilities opening which did not within the time frame given. All these were promises made prior to contract being signed not fulfilled.
Once in the apartment, getting these answers took months. Several calls and emails were sent and no one would get back to us. Finally after 6 months, we withheld rent and this was the only this which cause them to get themselves is gear. And then it was ok for a while there, though still it was a mission to get responses or things repaired by them.
Now, we have moved out of the property and are faced with another ghosting by the company. They will not release our deposit and NO ONE will respond to calls or emails. It has been a whole year and nothing. We keep calling and so far have had 3 people tell us "we will escalate and the relevant department will be in touch" and nothing. And now that we dont pay them, we cannot withhold money to have them talk to us.
So again, please do yourself a favour and read the negative reviews cause the the 5* ones are probably done by friends of the company.
On our part, we are now having to involve our lawyer as we plan on taking them to small claims court. 1yr out of a property and no contact to assist with deposit return is an...
Read moreThe worst Landlord/Agency I have ever seen. From the beginning of our tenancy (we have been a tenant since Sept 2020) we noticed a few discrepancies with their advert - for instance they completely lied about the facilities that came with the property, and when this was realised a month in to our rental agreement they didn't seem to care that they made blatant misrepresentations on their advert. We continually complained about this, to then find that they put the property back on the market again (whilst we still lived there) - and yet again lied about the facilities on the advert! In the end we managed to scrape a measly £250 back from them as they refused to reduce our rent. Not only this, but the day we moved in we noticed the sofa was broken. They offered us a sofa that was half the size and a third the value of the original sofa, and flat out refused to replace it for a like for like sofa. They continue to string us along and after following up with them again after a month of no contact, they say "the ticket is still open". What does that even mean? We are 5 months into our rental agreement now and still have no use of a sofa. Not only this, but the inventory report of all the items and all the damage in the flat on our arrival was missing over 75% of issues. We raised all of these issues, and asked them to be added to the report but this has still not been done. I can only assume they will cause great headache when it comes for us to get our deposit back and try to blame us for all of these problems. Worst Letting Agent / Landlord I have ever seen in my life. Avoid like the plague. I have spoken to many other tenants in the building that also rent with RLF and they speak of similar experiences. All of the good reviews on this page are...
