Summer stay at their garden flat in July 2022 (female solo traveller)
Pros:
genuinely friendly, polite and accommodating owners and staff (it's a family run business and they really care) garden access privacy and quiet, no next-wall neighbours like in a regular hotel room and really just minimal/background traffic noise for such a convenient location situated approx. halfway between Heathrow and central London, great tube and rail connections from Ealing Broadway (max. 4-minute-walk to Ealing Broadway station, even with luggage); multiple bus connections just a few steps from the front door lots of opportunities for (grocery) shopping as well as cafes, restaurants and other eateries in comfortable walking distance safe and lively neighborhood (Uni of West London nearby, shops and cafés/pubs/restaurants cater to a broad clientele) the flat comes with a huge fridge/freezer unit (plus electric kettle, toaster, microwave, small oven, iron and small ironing board) complimentary bottles of water, milk, small packs of cereal, tea, coffee, small pains aux chocolat (restocked dally) I also got a voucher for an English breakfast at a cafe nearby that serves big portions and is a nice, no-frills place mostly frequented by locals (= supporting the local community) good, firm mattress daily cleaning service, including fresh towels if you want/need them, emptying the trash, restocking the tea tray and fridge the garden flat airs out in hot weather really quickly if you switch on the fan and open the doors and windows (I was absolutely comfortable staying there during the hottest days of the year with record temperatures of 40°C) the garden flat has its own, free WiFi with excellent connection (the rooter is right there in the flat, next to a small TV) good number of electrical outlets/sockets that are easily reached as well (e.g. from the bed)
"Cons":
the shower/bathroom is more like a wet room with an even-floor shower, so when you take a shower you're flooding the whole bathroom, whether you want to or not the flat has seen better days by now, the wall paint is a bit chipped in places and the furniture isn't brand new either (but the flat is NOT shabby or unclean in any way!) the facilities and bathroom would easily accommodate 2 people, but the flat is rather long and narrow and the bed is definitely a single - would love to come back and stay again in here with my partner, but don't know if sleeping arrangements could be made to fit 2 people firm mattress but the pillows were a bit bulky and "unyielding"
I had an excellent stay despite the heat and felt very welcome. The owner couldn't have been friendlier; after the lovely and polite cleaning lady found me at the flat with a severe headache from the heat one afternoon, he came by in person and asked how I was doing and if I needed anything. I'm sure that if I hadn't done my own grocery shopping the day before, they would have even made sure that I got some food or the medicines I needed! I'd be happy to book again any time (although I'm not sure how draughty the garden flat can...
Read moreI have over the past 30 years , visited most cities ,and countless hotels ,and B&Bs .But I have never felt so compelled to write a review on my visit too the Caspian Hotel.. ||||When arranging my visit to Ealing Broadway ,I was looking for accommodation near train station ,and moreso near the Care home that my uncle John is in.||||I was expecting a travellodge too be the first choice ..Nope ,it was much further ! Caspian is less than 2/3 minutes from the heart of Ealing ,it sticks out (not like a sore thumb that's for sure ) but so catching on the eye ,it looks more suited with its beautiful garden and aqua green frontage ,too be more suited in a Mediterranean village.||||On arriving , I was given a great friendly welcome from thd owner , and the reassurance that he and his staff would be at hand if I wanted anything .. ||||For being bang in the centre Ealing Broadway, I could not believe how inexpensive my stay was , I seriously expected considerably more .||||My room ,was similar to a boutique room I have stayed in another hotel , bright and vibrant, clean as a whistle ,with all the extras you get in top hotels.||||It goes without saying that I would recommend this fantastic ,friendly ,family hotel too put it top of your list should you be planning business or pleasure in the beautiful part of London, Ealing Broadway..||||Top marks all round .. and...
Read moreThe hotel lies as phantastic as possible. Very close to the tube, close to restaurants and shops and everything you could ever want close to a hotel. Having said this it means that you can't expect it to be a quite area as an evidence. Now back to the hotel. The staff is super nice and thoughtful, cleaning the room every day without us requesting it, replacing snacks in the room every day, too. We had a 3 bed room with bathroom on the ground level and suspect it to be one of the not yet renovated ones as there was no picture of it in the booking advertisement. The issue with the ground level is that there are persons in the upper level above. And we had the bad luck to have one above who was not on our rythm and sleep hour needs. So the early bird started his/her day at about 5 and ended it after midnight. You do hear every step, the water in shower and toilet etc. If we would be asked for improvements it would be isolation to the upper level, a refresh of the bathroom (barely covered black areas but everything is as clean as you can get an old bathroom) and a new mattress. However we would like to come back one day and take an upper level room as we expect it would be a wonderful experience. Thanks a lot...
