I went on the opening day of their newly opened opticians department, and found it to be a cut above other opticians. I have no hesitation in recommending them for your eye test. If you're asked to look at a Green X that looks a bit like Space Invaders, you'll now know who is responsible for that! They liked my suggestion! With the eye test comes a free hearing test, which is most useful. Moreover, the analysis of the eye test is more detailed than, I believe, the other big names. It is because I was given excellent customer service that I am giving the store 5* - I also took advantage of the free eye test that they are offering until the end of May 2022. Mind you, the café was poor. Staff handled cutlery, the portions were small and they don't bring out cutlery with your food. You have to get that for yourself. As well as being slightly expensive the food doesn't taste great. I paid £4.95 for the wrap in the photo.

I’ve been an M&S customer for over 15 years - It’s where I buy all my clothes and I’ve always received excellent service but I’m afraid that wasn’t the case today. Dhaval (customer service) accused me of returning a jacket that has been worn. It hadn’t. He sniffed the jacket right in front of me looking for a perfume - there wasn’t. He made comments about creases which had happened from the jacket being folded. Chris (the manager) eventually came around after Dhaval had misunderstood (from a phone call to a colleague) that he must call him to come over. The manager agreed (after careful inspection of the jacket) that it had not been worn and a refund was issued but it left a bitter taste. M&S does not treat customers this way. I’m disappointed.

One of M&S bigger stores, this is spread over three floors, with a ground floor extension out to the shopping centre. The food hall, ATM, collection point and ladies wear are on the ground floor. Ladies wear, lingerie and children's wear on the first floor and men's wear, bureau de change, home ware, cafƩ and toilets on the top floor. There's a choice of escalators or lifts to use to access floors 1 and 2. The ambience of the store is average, although the cafƩ does have windows overlooking the High Street, making it better than many M&S cafƩs. Parking is available nearby in the shopping centre car park, but is again up lifts or stairs, so not that convenient.

I usually choose to come to the store right at opening for a calmer shopping experience. Victoria, the manager at the time, made sure that this was not the case. I was looking for underwear when Victoria shouted at me from across a different department telling me to "stop opening all of the packs of underwear". I didn't open a single pack. There were tons open before I even got there which weren't even my size. I told her this and she didn't respond. She then shouted at another employee to come and remove all of the open packs. The employee came over and started reaching directly in front of where I was currently shopping. She didn't not say excuse me or try to give me space. I brought this to her attention and she said " didn't you hear her tell me to do this?" I said, do you really need to do this right this second as I'm shopping? I walked away from the department to the fitting rooms. Where sure enough, Victoria shouted yet again to tell me to go downstairs as the upstairs fitting room was not open. There were no signs or any indication of this for me to know that it was closed. Finally, I went to check out and there were three people in front of my. Victoria was at the checkout of course, and she shouted NEXT! Three times, louder each time, at a customer in front of me who hardly had time to react. I have never had such a poor experience. I came to the shop early for a peaceful stress free shop and left so irritated. I do not see how Victoria managed to hold a position of management with such awful and unprofessional behaviour.

I truly hope this is an anomaly or I won't be returning to...

Please tell the old lady, who has black hair, who was working on the click & collect department today 16/01/24 to learn some manners and not to project her personal life problems onto customers. I was really polite to this old lady and she was so rude for absolutely no reason. She didn’t ask me for any proof of purchase or anything, literally anyone could have used my name to take my order. In some stores you need a barcode to do click and collect, I didn’t have a chance to read the email so I just scrolled down and assumed the barcode would need to be scanned (due to her not asking for any information other than my name) and I didn’t realise it was a barcode for returns. After she handed me the parcel, I politely asked if she needed to scan the barcode to which she responded ā€˜dO yOu wANt TO ReTURn’ in a hostile, rude manner. And I politely explained, I did not… to which she gave me a rude shrug and facial expression as if to say ā€˜well then’. It’s really not that hard to just politely say no? It’s my first time using click and collect with m&s and it’s a huge let down as I’ve always had positive experiences with other employees at this store, but this one woman was so vulgar and rude for absolutely no reason. If I was being rude I would understand, however, I was not so this behaviour was not warranted and I would highly advise sending this employee for some therapy because clearly she is not able to regulate her emotions like a normal adult should. It’s not that hard to be polite, when someone is being...

I found this place was very busy. On one occasion I visited I bought a top I wanted to change into. I used a self checkout til. It never asked if I wanted a receipt so I never got one. On going to the changing rooms entrance I asked to change into my new top I’d just bought. She asked me to provide receipt which I didn’t have. She then started to treat me as a shop lifter from then on as did all staff. They kept asking the same questions and for a receipt which they couldn’t print another one of off. In front of customers I was highly embarrassed as the manager was called and he interrogated me further on how I paid and what change I had got etc....he didn’t believe I’d paid either and I insisted as I found it hilarious that they should check the cctv as I said anyone who wanted to shop loft would certainly not try to go I tot he changing room to wear the said stolen item....after everything the manager said ok and walked off...no apologies, no receipt as they COULDN’T find it and totally out of orderšŸ‘ŽšŸ»šŸ‘ŽšŸ»wouldn’t recommend them due to the way the staff treat customers. I’ve visited on several occasion prior to that. One time I wanted to order some jeans as their weren’t any in store of my size and as I ask the cashier she said I needed to pick up a pair to scan, I said well the lady working by the jeans told me I wouldn’t need a pair and she said well we do and again was rude....I got a pair and had to go back to wait then she kept getting mixed up needing a supervisor to...
