I ordered twice from this Franco Manca in Ealing and both time the order was wrong. On this second occasion, two of the pizzas where like tortilla bases?!? I’ve eaten Franco Manca pizzas for years and I thought okay, maybe they changed the pizza dough. I guess they no longer use sourdough as part of their business but this thing in front of me instead, whatever it is. Too bad that they still praise their sourdough pizza everywhere on their websites and the photos of their products are still sourdough pizzas.
Anyway, as I’m opening the third box which was supposed to be a garlic bread (but of course they also messed that up), I find a beautiful Margherita, with a napolitan style sourdough. That was what I recognised as a Franco Manca pizza. Clearly who made our pizzas had no idea what they were doing and thought it would be acceptable to send those to a costumer. They were uneatable unless you want to break a tooth. We tried to complain to Uber Eats as our pizzas were uneatable, the garlic bread was wrong and some ingredients were missing but we didn’t even get a refund. All I got was £2 for missing potatoes. Incredible disappointment. Honestly never using Franco Manca or Uber eats ever...
Read moreThere's no option to no star a venue but, I'm afraid, the Ealing Franco Manca, on last night's effort, was a no star performance. Two of us popped along after work nearby ~ my colleague had eaten there recently and said how good it was, so we decided to head to Franco Manca. It wasn't especially busy with diners in the restaurant, it was around 7.30 on a Sunday evening, but clearly the restaurant was understaffed at front of house and was overwhelmed by take out orders as, after we were shown yo our table, no one came to us in the 25 minutes or more that we sat there. Others nearby appeared to have been waiting longer for orders to be taken/food to arrive. None of the front of house staff came to take a drinks order, offer water or apologise for the length of waiting time. Really poor across the board, so we decided to go elsewhere after almost half an hour. Five minutes away we found an excellent pizzeria (Santa Maria) which will get 5 ⭐. If you want to be a takeaway/Deliveroo outlet, that's fine, just don't leave in-house customers waiting so long that they feel the need to walk out. Really poor but hopefully just a one-off (though reading a couple of...
Read moreThe first time I heard of Franco Manca in Brixton, I took a day off work just to try it. Since then it has been my favourite pizza place. But what’s going on with the place recently? I’m glad it’s expanded but is it cracking at the seams? Went to Ealing branch in the evening when it was really quiet and it took 15 minutes before I got a menu. I was just about to walk out but was offered a drink as an apology - appreciated. But some of the menu items are different. What happened to the Gloucester Old spot ham and organic ingredients? My food came I have to say it was a great pizza. So good, I decided to take my kids whilst on a short shopping trip the next day. Google says it opens at 11:30am, but was told they open at 12pm. Really disappointing. Went to another establishment for early lunch and one of the staff mentioned they used to work there and agreed that the staff and attitude was very lazy and on the back foot, saying if they open the restaurant when they are “ready” and not when it’s supposed to according to publicised information. Come on...
