My recent experience flying through T2 was great—bright, spacious, and filled with excellent amenities that really elevate the travel experience. šŸ‘ What I loved: • New shops & duty‑free: A flagship World Duty Free (2,165 m²) plus boutique brands like Chanel, Pandora, LEGO, Rituals, Boots and WHSmith—one-stop shopping & gifts galore ļæ¼ ļæ¼ ļæ¼. • The Avenue & Boutique Mall: A stylish high‑street feel with premium stores and even a Champagne bar—great for a pre-flight splurge ļæ¼. • Food & drink options: The brand-new Great Northern Market (472 seats) offers street food kitchens, plus staples like Greggs, Joe & The Juice, Fever‑Tree cocktail bar and JD Wetherspoon—all adding variety and atmosphere ļæ¼. • Modern design & layout: Open, well-lit spaces with airfield views. The expanded lounge area and next-gen security scanners make for a smoother, less stressful journey ļæ¼. šŸ‘€ Minor caveats: • Some travellers on Reddit mention seating shortages and occasional queues, especially during peak times—could be something to watch out for ļæ¼. • Security lines can get busy, so I’d advise arriving early or using fast-track if you’re in a rush. Overall, Terminal 2 feels like you’re starting your holiday or business trip early—with thoughtful design, quality retail and dining, and a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the older terminals. Just bring a bit of patience during peak hours and it’s a solid experience.

First time visiting Manchester Airport. Staff were helpful and friendly, particularly when I had to drop my bags off. The Mac makeup sales assistant was OK, However, I can't bear it when people try and sell you something you don't need! Plus, I purchased the wrong foundation powder! šŸ™ƒ more money wasted. ill advised. The Chanel sales assistant didn't really help until I spoke to her Chinese (Asian) colleague. Plus, she could see I was searching for something in particular... What is it with people! If I travel via this airport again, I won't be going to that brand OR I'll seek out the Chinese lady who was more helpful. I also recieved the same kind of reception from a middle aged white woman who worked in accessorize shop... considering I spent almost Ā£100.00 for 2x swimsuits. She too wasn't helpful until I went to the till to purchase the items. If people don't enjoy the job, retire or find another job that will make you happy. šŸ™„

This is based on our recent visit. Arrived at check in approximately 4 hrs before our trip to Orlando. VA check in and bag drop was a breeze. Security wouldn’t let us through and said we were too early so had to wait 45 minutes. The place is a train wreck, loads of building work going on, no where to sit unless you have a disability. This then means you are mooching around which surely makes it unsafe especially as more people arrive in the terminal. We went downstairs to see if we could find somewhere to sit until we could get through but this was the same, shops closed and not a seat to be found unless you are in Starbucks which is tiny. They need to sort it out, even if it’s until all the work is finished. Let’s face it, they make you pay for it. Definitely not a pleasant experience this trip.

Got dropped off driver had to pay £6.00 to get out of car park, we 6 of us went into the airport and spent £100.00 just on food and drink why should you have to pay for delivering custom to the airport it doesn't add up. SECURITY a nightmare the set up for xray is a complete mess we had medicine in a separate case that went missing, after 10mins of asking for it I asked a supervisor saying we had been waiting ages for the case the answer I got was HOW LONG IS AGES!! completely disgracefull. How after spending £1billion can they end up with a complete shambles of a terminal. On return we were held on the tarmac for 20 mins waiting for wheel chocks and Steps obviously they cannot even cope with incoming flights. Lastly our luggage was put on carousel 1 there are 12 carousels WHERE IS THE EXIT yes past carousel 12 trust me it's a long walk I am determined not to use Manchester again unless it's the only flight...
