Rude, impatient staff - don't ask for Hamid!

I've been to Kings a few times, and usually I've been impressed with the service. However I went there today (21st August 2017), and was shocked by the level of poor service I received.

I asked for what I wanted, and after the barber asked me if I liked it, I was honest and asked if he could cut more off. He then replied 'Well make your mind up, I can't cut your hair ten times!' So, for being honest that I wasn't entirely happy with the haircut, I get shouted at! After saying to him, 'I don't appreciate how you've just spoken to me, that was rude', he denied it. It's not up to the person being rude to decide if they've been rude!

He also said he was very busy, when I looked over my shoulder there were only 2 other people waiting, plus he had another colleague working there too! I'd hardly call that being rushed off your feet, especially if Kings claim to be excellent barbers.

Admittedly, he did what I asked and I wasn't happy with that. However, as a matter of principle and law, I am perfectly entitled to say whether I'm unhappy with a service received (please check the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Apologies for being honest(!) Rude staff, I went in for a haircut and as I got to the top of the stairs there was a staff member lounging on the sofa, he asked if I had a booking (there are no signs outside the shop suggesting I do need a booking) I said no, he then asked me what I wanted and after I told him he said "you need to book" totally unprofessional, no customer service whatsoever and if I needed to book then why ask me what I want and why not put a sign on the door so I don't walk all the way up the stairs to be told no because he couldn't be bothered to do a simple skin fade. Hamid is a brilliant Barber, used the place twice now for a fade and both times he has performed, nice guy you can have a chat with, will be consistently using again!

(Edit) Went back a few times since this and had varying cuts. Most of them okay but some not so great but nothing awful. Hamid has consistently been great as per the original review.

Went tonight and had my hair cut by a new lad. Barber himself was lovely. The trim on the other hand was less so. Asked for a Mid Fade, for some reason he chose to give my high fade admitting at the end he “went for a higher fade this time”??? If I wanted to have a higher fade I would have asked for a high fade - has annoyed me to the point I’m finding...
