UK Superbowl — Attraction in Newark and Sherwood

We will remember our visit for the wrong reasons. Perhaps the female on duty was having a bad day but she was actually quite scary stomping across the lanes, no smile. At one point she stomped over to our balls and threw the child ramp out the way. Ripped off the covers and grabbed some stuck balls. We had no idea they were stuck, she said nothing to us all and then stomped off again! Most bizarre situation. It took us all by surprise. The pins regularly got stuck in the machine and didn’t reset, on many occasions there were less than 10 when we started or one was lying down! We asked the gentlemen on duty to help and they were really friendly but it was annoying having to keep asking and made us rush to finish our game in the time.

Definitely not somewhere to go for relaxed fun. We were first in on a Saturday Morning with only one other lane used so not exactly busy or bustling. We have to laugh about it which is why it got a 3 score instead of...

On the 20st of July we had a booking for a bday party. When we arrived at the agreed hour, the previous party was not finished so we had to wait and extra 45 minutes with the guests untill the table was free. I say free, not cleaned. I had to clean the leftovers of the previous party myself, wash the floor and the tables. All this whilst the person in charge was staring blunt and absent at me. 10 minutes before our party already shortened was about to finish, the manager started to shout at a trainee that he should come and tell me to leave allready as there is another party booked. That , of course for my paid time. All the permanent staff did nothing all day but shout at new staff members that were left to struggle and find their way around the place...

Never had a bad experience, usually take my son and nephews for a game and a bite to eat. Food nice, and prices aren't extortionate as I always go off peak. As for lanes breaking down and other technical errors, what do you expect, it happens with technology, I went to Nottingham Superbowl and this happened more than once. Also I can't comment on the condition of the shoes as you CAN actually wear your own normal shoes these days, not just here but at other bowling alleys too so that's a problem solved. Staff are friendly enough especially a youngish guy that works there, always very helpful.
