Edit 3: beef casserole is amazing! Lovely and beautifully cooked british beef! Jus, mushrooms, carrots and onions add to it being even more delicious. Recommend a piece of shortbread also. Friendly waitresses and good service once again.

Edit: Came again today - beef lasagna was brilliant and extremely tasty as was the carrot cake! definitely recommend these 2 as well!

We both had the lamb and beef ragu bolognese from the specials board - delicious sauce and British meat, spaghetti cooked from fresh as well. Sticky toffee pudding, although tasty, was most likely microwaved. The waitresses were friendly; young waitress, Sue, was very good as the kitchen had forgotten our order so she quickly sorted it. A bit too expensive for me though, £4.50 I was charged for some lettuce. Overall, great atmosphere and food but service was slow and lacking slightly.

Shame a lot of the desserts are vegan/...

Not too busy but we had reserved a table anyway. “It’s in the garden room” Did not show us to the table which was in a cramped corner which was just about big enough for a couple of toddlers. Moved ourselves to another table. Went to order food. Very half hearted explanations of the various ordering options. “Where are you sitting?” “In the garden room? “Whereabouts in the garden room? “On the left? “Do you bring it out to us?” “Yes, I TOLD you that. ??

All responses delivered deadpan and unsmiling. When food brought out again deadpan. Asked them if they wouldn’t mind clearing two dirty tables nearby. Much busier later on but at 12:15 not so. Gannets food is deservedly popular. However we were not made to feel especially welcome. Can do...

Went this morning with my friend thought we would give gannets a try after being recommended. Latte coffee very nice but I then ordered a pot of tea and a scone. Took my tea back to table ,while friend had soup, to wait for scone as I was told it would be brought to me. I waited , watching others being served,so went and quiered my scone. The young man that had served said he would chase it up. He then came twice to the table to check what I had ordered before finally being brought 2 little scone bits, not what I expected but ok. Then when leaving the cafe I was stopped by young man to ask if I had paid for it. To say I was shocked and furious to be accused .......well how would you feel. Will I return to gannets.....what...
