Great little secluded beach. We visited after being told by the locals of the Sri Lankan curry served from the beach cafe. (5pm-7pm) We were not disappointed! Amazing curry. Served on proper plates with cutlery to take onto the beach. £10pp and worth It! (Gluten & dairy free with either meet or veggie option) Get there early as they queue all the way up the hill and often sell out before 7pm. It's a shingle beach so do take a decent picnic blanket. Just to be aware that the nearest toilet stop is back at woolacombe beach so make sure you plan ahead. We parked at woolacombe esplanade so nearby anyway. If you arrive after 4pm then parking is only £3. Perfect way to spend an evening with a lovely ice cream to finish it off! And a note for those visiting with kids and may not want a curry. They serve cheese sandwiches and other snacks for a little picnic option for...

My favourite place to visit. Fantastic atmosphere, which changes throughout day and evening.dependant on how many visitors on shell beach. Lovely sand when low tide. Ideal for kids shell hunting. Love the quaint beach cafe. Best Sri Lankan curry's, normally two choices, meat/fish and vegetarian adult £9.95 child portion £6.95. Very popular and delicious 😋 curries served 5pm to 7pm. Jacket potatoes, Sandwiches, Cream teas, cakes, biscuits plus lots other food plus ice-cream, drinks. (no alcohol sold) can bring your own. Four picnic tables/benches in front of cafe. Seat upto six per table. Cafe open till 8pm. weather permitting. Can take dogs and do your own barbecues on beach. Kids love climbing rocks, cliffs. Lovely to watch sunset and view of Lundy Island after a sunny day. Very...

Travelled for 2 hours to enjoy the Sri Lankan curry on the beach, and yet again, we were not disappointed, the weather was fabulous which also helped. You have a choice of Currys, either meat or veg, the meat one is £9.95, don't know about the veg one, the cafe is not licensed but you can take your own alcohol onto the beach. The curry is served daily 5-7pm or until it runs out, it is really popular in the summer/holiday months. The parking up on the main road is free during the week until the 1st June, only paying at weekends and bank holidays. Dogs are allowed but must be on a lead. There are no toilets available, the nearest ones being across from the Red barn pub back in...

Small and pebbly but those little pebbles and shells are littered with gems (sea glass, multi coloured shells and more) to keep you busy when the tide is in! Gets busy on a good day but is sheltered when its blowing strongly on Woolacombe. When the tide goes out there's rockpools a plenty. The beach is brilliant, drops off quickly beyond the waterline and hidden rocks so worth bearing in mind for swimmers and children. If you pass the time till 5pm there's the excellent Sri-Lanken curry served till it runs out (all vegan to). Get there early.......

Loved visiting this beach with my bestie for its white sandy beaches, picturesque views, beautiful sunsets, incredible curry eaten on china plates and copious amount of g&t's (remember to bring your own alcoholic drinks). If you'll be staying nearby, you can't book for dinner so it's worth getting there for 5pm. Dinner served 5pm to 7pm. If you're wanting to check whether restaurant is open, it's worth joining the Facebook page as this is how they let people know whether they're opening each evening or not. Highly highly recommended.

Superb shingle beach with a lovely little cafe which serves food and drink onto the beach with proper plates etc! Super friendly service, but make sure you take cash as no card payments. At low tide it has great access for surfing away from the crowds on Woolacombe beach, plenty of rock pools and overall a very relaxing experience. Highly recommended for families during the day and early evening, curry time past 17:00 can be very busy depending on the weather and tide times. BBQs are also most welcome as well.
