Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to our expectations. We were really excited to try the lobster roll and the sourdough cinnamon roll, but both fell short.

The cinnamon roll, despite being warmed up, was dense, doughy, and tasted underbaked—lacking the flavour we were hoping for. The lobster roll was light and okay, but nothing particularly memorable.

That said, the staff were lovely—friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which we truly appreciated.

EDIT FOR REPLY BELOW : I appreciate your perspective and understand that it may feel like I’m “hiding behind a screen,” but I prefer to reflect on my experience before sharing a review. I absolutely recognise the effort and passion that goes into running a food business, and I don’t take that lightly. That said, my review was based on my honest, personal experience and palate. I’ve had the opportunity to try a wide range of food from many places, so my feedback is shaped by that. While your team was undoubtedly friendly and welcoming, the food unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations on...

We've walked past this place a couple of times in recent years and said that we should try it, but then never remembered. However, this year we did remember, and what a treat it was!

For 2 adults and 3 kids we had:

2 ultimate burgers 1 chicken wrap 2 kids chicken boxes 3 regular fries

Needless to say, we ended up with far too much to eat, but the food was amazing! The chicken wrap was tasty, juicy and massive. The ultimate burger was a double patty beast, too much for my eldest son, but he maintains it was the best burger he's ever eaten!

One piece of advice - a portion of regular fries is big. So for three people you would want to share two fries max, or even get one large portion.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Good value, lovely people, pretty fast service given it is cooked to order, and most importantly the food...

I recently tried the takeaway cod and fries from South Street Food. Overall, the meal tasted really good. The batter was crisp and the flavours were spot on. The staff were also friendly and welcoming, which made for a nice experience. However, I was really disappointed with the size of the fish — it was absolutely tiny, quite thin, and not the chunky, flaky piece of cod I would usually hope for. At £14.50, it felt overpriced for what you actually got. They bulked out the meal by filling the box with lettuce and slaw, which were fresh and tasted good, but it didn’t really make up for the small portion of fish. It ended up feeling like a bit of a rip-off. A real shame, because the flavour was there, but the value for money...

Staff were very sweet, friendly and helpful. Food was immaculately prepared and tasted like it could’ve been Michelin star. Honestly, they should be charging more paid £11 for a “crab dog” and I think there was about 4 crabs worth of meat on it. Let alone the quality and how it was prepared. Fried chicken for both me and my 2 y/o daughter was amazing. Dill in the rainbow slaw adds a sea-feel touch to the slaw. Great idea who ever thought of that I will stealing that.

We stopped by here for fish and chips, and we were pleased we did. This fish and chips also came with side salad with red cabbage/slaw, sauce and a lemon. The fish was really good with a crispy light batter. The fries were a nice touch rather than chips. Salt and vinegar provided. The mushy peas were very delicious. Fine fish and chips. Lovely location and small seating area outside. Really nice service.
