WEDDING EVENING RECEPTION SEPT 2024 Richard, Sally & his Team were fantastic from the word go! Having just taken on the venue, they couldn't have given us any better service, communication and a great selection of food and drink. We hired the venue exclusively for around 60 guests, with a gorgeous buffet of homemade chill and nachos, huge delicious quiches, breaded calamari and chicken strips, loaded potatoes and crudites, to name a few. This came out hot and was very filling! We have been eating it all week, thank you for kindly parcelling up the rest. There was enough space on the balcony to watch the sun set, to cool off after our dancing. There's a cosy dancing space inside, where we set up two large speakers and our small decks, under the Tides Inn Disco ball and lights! Staff behind the bar were lovely and efficient, serving a huge selection of craft beers, French wines and a huge cocktail list! Richard and the Team were so helpful blowing up our 25 balloons and putting up some basic decor - The venue is beautiful enough! Thank you for creating great memories for our special day, I have been spreading the word. See you for a Sunday Roast, Tides Inn! Love Liz & Rich Puttick

The best sit-down restaurant in Woolcolmbe. Seriously don’t go anywhere else. We dined here three nights in a row! I wish I had more pictures of the food but here is a photo of my dog looking shocked that he couldn’t partake. The best meal I had was the lamb shank. I also tried the ribs (super hearty portion!) and the warm seafood salad. Beer was cold, and the wine selection good. The service was great, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Just a great place for a hearty, fresh, home-cooked meal.

I love this place. It appears to be a singular venture. It can be a little chaotic - they seemed to have missed giving menus to the table next to us and one meal arrived a bit too much after the others - but the staff are lovely. The food is great. We went a few times and variously had steak (rare) and dirty fries, fish stew, full rack of ribs, Shepard’s pie, surf and turf. All were a treat. The chef is turning out great flavours time and time again. Sit in the right spot and you have sea views.

Was our first time visiting this place and most certainly be the last. We tried ringing the bar/ restaurant to make a table reservation for the evening but there was no luck as it went straight to answer phone. So we decided to take a walk to the tides inn to book a table in person as my other half spoke to one member of staff there and asked if we could book a table and that we tried ringing but we couldn’t get through she was met with hostile reaction and said “when did you ring” when we said not long ago she then continued with her snappy comments and told us that they was very busy as you can see so I can not answer the phone which I found odd as there wasn’t anyone one in the restaurant area and there was two members of staff on which I would have thought seen as they’re both standing behind the bar together whilst the other one wasn’t doing anything they could answer the phone. When they asked what time we want a table and when for we told them that evening she then looked in the book and told us the time we could come in which is not an issue as she asked us if we was particularly interested in the roast to which we replied yes please as it was on the Sunday she then told us that the later we come there is less chance off having some of the meats which I thought was out of our hands as the only time we had is what they allocated and we couldn’t go any earlier so we had no choice as we booked the table my other half asked what time they was open till and was told that we once service is done and when people finish there food and drinks that’s when they go home which I seemed very rude rather than telling her the direct answer as to the time of closure rather than the sarcastic comment she received. On the evening when we finally arrived to have our meal the customer service did not improve as the table that they had given us wasn’t much accommodating for baby also when we asked if it would be possible to swap tables they made it out to be a big deal and the member of staff who we asked went to go and check and was shaking there head as they walked off and came back and told us that we could change it after we just made do with the situation we kindly told them it would be fine after ordering our meal there was a long waiting period for our food to arrive. While we was waiting for the food to arrive the one member of staff gave us our cutlery but instead of being professional and placing it down which I was bothered if they wasn’t wrapped up in the tissue like they did with one of our knife and forks they left the others and just chucked them on the table and said there you go and walked off and left the cutlery everyone on our table which we had to sort out selfs. As time went on food still had not arrived and we simply asked how long it would be and the response we got was shouldn’t be to long which was not answering the question. When the food finally arrived it was lovely could not fault that in any way it was just a shame that the staff did not reflect the food which is such a let down so it is safe to say due to more negatives than positives from what we received from the place I will not be returning. Although I do not normally write reviews and like to bad name any business I just thought and what I witnessed is such an appalling reaction we received I just had to write about...

Can't fault the food as it was superb. However, part of eating out includes the ambiance, service etc. I booked a table for 2 today (Sunday 8th May) to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. The table was booked for 1.30pm. we arrived 10 mins early but we were shown straight away to the table we had reserved. Ordered drinks no issue, then came our order for food which was taken, again no issue. We then waited..........and waited.........and waited........and waited, ordered yet another drink and it was only at this point we were told that there was a shortage of staff in the kitchen but that we shouldn't have to wait much longer. Guess what ??? We waited........and waited........and waited, and only when I said that we were all for going we were told that our order was next. In all we waited 1hour 17 mins from the time of order to when we received our meal. Although we accept that due to the current climate there are staff shortages everywhere, it would have been told that there was a delay in food at the outset instead of after our second round of drinks. To make matters even worse is the fact that I myself are diabetic so was fast becoming close to my limit of requiring something to eat. We were then asked if we would like dessert which would have been nice but we didn't have the extra 2 hours it would have taken. They were not very busy, and the table next to me had to ask several times, eventually literally shouting for his bill. Yet there were 3 staff stood behind the bar doing nothing. A real shame as the food was excellent but the service was so bad and slow, we can think of many more ways to...
