Captain Jacks Bar, Restaurant & Beer Garden — Restaurant in North Devon

Group of 6 friends and family members aged 18-55yrs. Unprovoked, whilst we were seated at our table, we were rudely asked by a member of staff who asked us to leave.

He refused to say why he wanted us to leave (we had just ordered a 2nd round of drinks), then abused us verbally on two occasions when we suggested he give us a refund if he wanted us to leave.

The poor young lady that had to deal with her clearly drunk male co-worker must have felt extremely vulnerable, as this guy was totally smashed. He told our group at one stage “it’s 3am you need to go home” when it was 15:30 hrs and daylight outside.

The Pub owner / manager was called, and when they arrived apologised to us (thank you), but offered no recompense for what was an horrific customer experience. Safe to say won’t be coming back.

No Ales on draught at this pub. Lemonade served was flat. It’s THE WORST VENUE IN WOOLACOOMBE.

Captain Jack's is quite a large place just off the beachfront. It has a traditional old fashioned pub, a modern restaurant, and quite a large outdoor courtyard. We ate at Captain Jack's after being refused food elsewhere in Woolacombe when the kitchen closed earlier than expected.

The staff at Captain Jack's were really honest when we arrived that there would be a 40 minute wait for food as they were quite busy. However, the wait was worth it. The kids meals were really substantial and excellent quality. The adult main courses (Cajun chicken fajitas, sea bass special, fish and chips), were all large portions and really good quality. Excellent Pub & Restaurant

Captain Jacks is located next to the amusement arcade off the main high street in Woolacombe, I feel it is passed over because of its non-central location.

Seven of us sat for dinner (4 adults, 3 Children) bill was £53 my chili was excellent and I only heard good from everyone else (the kids had empty plates too)
