We came across this little tea room yesterday. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly. The environment is very peaceful and relaxing. Everything is reasonably priced for a popular area. The coffee is good, and I recommend the baguettes, they are so fresh and worth every penny. There are singing birds all round and if you are still and quiet enough they will sit very close to you. Will definitely visit again when visiting.

What a lovely place this is . Cream teas are to die for . Excellent service from staff and very friendly . We only had cream teas, but by the look of the food coming out, it looked amazing . 10/10 for me , definitely coming back .

My brother and myself went to this tea room specifically for a Devonshire cream tea whilst visiting Ilfracombe . If I’m honest I’ve had better scones bought from Sainsbury’s supermarket. When they arrived I thought by the look of them they were not homemade scones and when I picked one up it had been heated, which is a sure give away they are not fresh . As soon as I put the knife into it it just fell apart , so I took it back and asked for a cold one but this was no better . I ate the majority of it as I was hungry but it was like a slightly sweetened cheap burger bap , quite disgusting. When I went to pay , no one asked if I was happy with it so I said to the women as she came out from behind the counter, that was the worst cream tea I’d ever had and she smiled at me and looked right through me . The owner then told me how much I owed so I mentioned to him I didn’t enjoy the scones, he arrogantly said they were the best scones , from his brother in law shop and in twenty years no one has ever complained. And said there was nothing he could do about it and my reply was if you cared you could discount my bill to which he got angry and aggressive talking back at me and saying he doesn’t give anything back . And the problem was with me not his business. My advise would be to anyone don’t go and I am not the only bad review on...

Went in today with my daughter for a quick bite to eat. Two jacket potatoes, one was fine, the other had not been cooked properly. I spoke to our wait staff who were great and she took it back into the kitchen. I could clearly hear the chef complaining loudly about "oh what's wrong with this one" and being loud and disrespectful of their clientele. The jacket was then microwaved for a further two minutes before being returned to me.

Rather than complain again I ate everything else served with the dish and asked for a deduction on the bill. Once again, the food was returned to the chef who I could hear from the till again complaining loudly about "how dare someone return food"

I will not be returning to this restaurant and would suggest others do the same. A jacket potato served at lunch time on a Tuesday is hardly taxing or challenging cooking so if they can get this wrong what is their actual complex food going to be like.

Would not recommend, will...

Was really hopeful but sadly it was not good... both the food and hot drinks were ooor considering the prices charged for a simple but varied menu A sprinkling of mild grated cheese & less than tangy pickle in a soft white baguette for well over £5 with a small token side salad that was mainly red onion with tomato, lettuce & oddly sweetcorn ? Mocha Coffee was similar to vending machine standard & taste and worst of all COLD ! Must give positives here which was overhead cover if raining & dog friendly with plenty of staff hoovering near you but not enjoyable enough to return again. There are at least 3 tea rooms on this road towards the harbour area so suggest we will considering one of the others in future as frequent...
