My partner and I have eaten at Ilfracombe Tandoori Indian restaurant on a number of occasions.
Tonight we really fancied an Indian meal. So we walked to the High Street in Ilfracombe, where the restaurant is situated.
We were greeted very pleasingly by two members of staff, who were very happy to seat us, and took our drinks and poppadom order. The four sauces that accompany the poppadoms are always beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the mango chutney and the lime pickle because the variation of flavours and taste are very pleasing for the palette and an excellent starter before I start my main course.
For the main, my partner and I ordered the Goan Lamb Vindaloo and the Garlic Chicken Lamb. To accompany this we also ordered; Sag Pannier; mushroom rice and a Keenan naan. All of the dishes had the right amount of heat, with a fantastic mix of spice and a beautiful aroma.
One of the waiter's checked to see whether all of our meals had the correct amount of heat, in which we replied yes, its lovely.
We enjoyed every single bite and finished our meals feeling full and satisfied.
We highly recommend this Indian restaurant, for the quality of the food, produce and...
Read moreWe are in Ilfracombe for a wedding and we decided after a few drinks to eat curry. We googled and looked through distance and reviews. We decided on Tandoori Night. We were in a group of 9 and didn't have a problem getting a table. They were very accommodating and it's a large restaurant so we were all sat together.
The service was great, friendly and at a good pace. We ordered our drinks which arrived. The wine was not very good quality, we left the glasses ordered as the rose wine was bitter and sweet, not dry as requested.
The food was ordered, it all came out in good time and was good in portion. We ordered lamb biriyani, lamb dansak, keema naan and popadoms. Others had tandoori chicken.
The food was very good and generous with the meat and the sauce was lovely and thick with plenty of lentils and vegetables.
The biriyani rice was cooked to perfection.
The price was very reasonable for what we ordered.
It is a very short walk from the spoons pub up a hill. About 5 mins walk.
Great place to visit if you fancy a curry...
Read moreHave to shoutout Katarina Banska & Mustak!
Our first time visiting Ilfracombe in North Devon and it was my birthday weekend too. My Katka reserved a table for us at Tandoori Night.
The New Orleans vibe inside Tandoori Night with its wrap around french style white balcony encompassing the Restaurant interior gave us a eclectically warm vibe. The food was delicious too and I recommend Butter Chicken and those Naans!
My Fiancé comes from Slovakia and coming across Slovakians in England really has been few and far between. When one of the Servers learned of my Katka's nationality, she hop footed to the kitchen to grab Katarina Banska from Banska Bystrica, Slovakia to visit our table for her introduction. Such a fantastic person and she made our evening better. Our Server Mustak was also a standout with his attentive demeanour and kind disposition. Thank you...
