What a pleasant surprise: Ashby museum. A hidden gem. Geographically small but curated by people who truly love history in all its aspects. I was tipped off by a friend who is a history lecturer and went to a talk there which was excellent; and then we had time to take in the museum. If you want to know about where we are living (the displays and information go right back to prehistory) and you are interested in fascinating people from our local past: you cannot find anything better than this.
