A slightly unprofessional service from the start to the finish, I like to sit down and relax, I told the waitress I would give her a shout when I was ready to order, three times she tried to take our order, when we weren't ready she stated that there was only one chef on. Approximately 14 people in the restaurant. Didn't want to take a certain cash note. Food was very average for the price. Drinks are overpriced. Small bottle of Madri £5.00, large glass if wine £9.50 Starter Prawns were overcooked and overpticed £11.00 Main course was nice but overpriced at £18.00 for 3 meatballs., complementary bread would have been nice. Small bowl of chips for £5.00 Just to say that prices aren't a issus if the food and service reflects. Would I return again, not a chance. Your response was typical of someone that failed the customer and can't admit it, very similar to your service, very poor to say...
Read moreA real gem of a restaurant in Ashby. We went on a busy Friday night, but there was no delay or angsty wait staff. The attention to detail that goes into making your dining experience is excellent, from keeping your wine glass topped up, to ensuring we had everything we wanted. The menu is mostly gluten free, so as a coeliac, it was a relaxed night, I was able to sit back and trust that my food was safe. The staff have a good knowledge of allergies, and even wrote a menu/the dishes I could have, making it possible for us to share food (a rarity).
One note, if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, go on a quiet night as the acoustics in the building make it pretty echoey - but it's worth it! Already planning...
Read moreWe were a table of four towards the end of November this year and we enjoyed a relaxed yet exceptional experience. We stayed largely on the specials. Three if us had artichokes to start with one of us taking the beef stew. For the main course three had the suckling pig while our fourth member had suckling lamb leg. It is the test of a good restaurant that you want to go back and sample more of the menu.
The sadness for two of us is that we live in Berkshire.
We had two bottles of wine, a Tempranillo which was very easy to drink and a bottle of Finca Martelo Reserva which was a complete delight and well beyond my expectations.
There is no question, we would like...
