Attended the Balloon Carnival here today, 🎪🎈 such fun! Very well organized, family friendly - face painting, rides, lots of really great food trucks, ample seating and additional toilet facilities. Performances throughout the day, jazz bands, cheerleaders, acoustic music sets etc. The mayor joined in the fun - dressing as an alien!👽 There were owls, alpacas and mini golf. The grounds of the park are well maintained, quite pretty and lots of shade on a hot day. Admission is free but a suggested donation for the Nightingale charity at the gate. Flower beds empty at the main entrance right now (January 1st), are usually well planted. Beyond the statue of Owen the large grass area and bandstand host events in the summertime. There is a crazy golf course. Dogs are allowed on leads only.

Read moreThis wonderful park & those who run & maintain it are to be commended. Well tended & generally clear of dog mess. However, several instances of bikes being ridden in the park, but how this problem is to be solved is very difficult. The charity which runs this park have given so many people a reason to safely get out. Recently, the mobile, excellent coffee van has made a welcome return. Not sure about the toilets being open though, so cannot comment on them. This is a genuine...
