We came with friends for an early dinner on a Monday, we chose Prezzo as between us we had £50 of vouchers from Tesco. In all honesty though we would not have chosen Prezzo if we'd had to pay full price. It was quiet when we arrived and there were plenty of empty tables, but it did get busier as the night went on. Unfortunately there seemed to be only two waiting staff who were very much rushed off their feet. This seemed odd as although it was a Monday there were clearly two big groups there who must have pre-booked. It did take quite a while for food to arrive and what we received was ok but certainly not worth paying full price. We ordered antipasto miste to share (about £11 I believe) which consisted of a few small slices of quite nice flatbread, some nice italian hummus, a dish of olives, a dish of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, a very small handful of raw vegetables (peppers, 2 spring onions and half a red onion), and a couple of slices of grilled but cold aubergine and courgette. For the money it seemed quite meagre but what I ate was ok, though I'm not sure why the grilled aubergine and courgette was deliberately served cold. For mains we all chose pizzas, and to be fair the dough really was nice and fresh, but I did notice that the chicken on the chicken Carbonara pizza consisted of very dry chunks of chicken breast that clearly had been cooked a long time ago and simply re-used, and the rest of pizza didn't have very much flavour sadly. For a £14 odd pizza this didn't seem very good value (I get much tastier pizzas from Aldi for less than £5), and to be honest the pizza would have been much more enjoyable without the dry chicken, but I can't bear wasting food if it's put in front of me. My friend did also comment that in the past she thought there had been more toppings on the pizza she'd ordered. But as we were mostly paying with vouchers and the poor waitress looked so harassed I didn't want to make a big deal of it. We decided against desserts, and it took a long time after asking for the bill for the waitress to come back and take the Tesco vouchers off us, and we waited even longer for her to return. In the end we got our things and went to the bar area to see what was happening with the bill. It seemed they were struggling with another bill, and then had some query with our vouchers, but eventually they sorted out how much we had left to pay. In the end we only paid about £7.50 each after deducting the £50 vouchers, and we were all full, but realistically I wouldn't choose to go back to Prezzo again. The food was ok but certainly not worth paying full price, and I'd rather put my Tesco vouchers towards something else rather than use them for an 'ok' meal and not particularly amazing service. I felt a bit bad not leaving a tip as I did lots of waitressing growing up, but honestly the service just wasn't that good...
Read moreLovely meal for our family of 5. When we first arrived there only seemed to be 1 person who was seating diners, getting their drinks, trying to take orders as well as delivering food to the tables! She was pretty busy and was doing her best, and was apologetic about the wait. However we really didnt wait long to have a drinks order taken. I didnt get her name, but she seemed to be more senior and possibly a manager. She was friendly and professional. Even with her initially being on her own, it was still quicker service than I've had here previously, so she did a great job!
I noticed there was an option to order on the app, so with 3 hungry small children, decided to try that. The app was easy to use for ordering and it seemed to make things work quicker. There were more waiting on staff who arrived when our children had eaten their starters, all of whom were equally as friendly and helpful as the first person we met.
The food was of a good quality and was tasty. The menu had a good amount of choice, including specials. We had pizzas and our children had a pizza and spaghetti bolognese. I think previously theyve had more meat in their bolognese, but they still enjoyed it. The drinks were nice but are quite expensive (this is across the whole chain though and an observation, not a criticism).
The restaurant appeared clean and staff were quick to clear tables when diners had finished.
One of the waiting staff, (Evie) was so helpful when it came to sorting out the bill promptly. I wasnt able to add the code I had to the app, which Evie explained was because it wouldnt work with any app offers. She was professional and approachable, as well as being very cheerful. And she managed to get the bill processed quickly (important when you've got young children who are tired by the end of a meal!) Thanks Evie!
Would definitely...
Read moreStaying for the weekend in Oswestry at a nearby Hotel we decided to try the Prezzo Italian and very impressed firstly by the young lady who took our booking earlier in the day when passing. Very efficient, helpful and personable. Later when arriving the same girl took us to our table at the rear of the restaurant before our waitress Evie who came to attend us. What a very pleasant polite and efficient young lady. Informed us allergies of which I had a peanut one. She gave me the list of contents of all the ingredients in the menu There was 4 of us in the group and we all had excellent and delicious food, which came very promptly and all served hot. We hadn't planned on Italian food as I'm not overly impressed by Pasta or Pizza's. However I must say my lasagne was the best I'd ever eaten out especially as my wife makes what is the best Lasagne . I had to tell her this one was on a par with hers and the garlic bread we ordered was a perfect accompaniment. We were not expecting it to be such a perfect evening for food & atmosphere. In addition absolutely fantastic service by all the staff we came into contact with, especially Evie who was so knowledgeable and a credit to the younger generation. Thank you all so much for an unexpected evening meal. We hope to visit Oswestry again and will definitely visit your...
