Visited here today with the intention of having a drink and maybe a cake. It gives the impression of a 1940's tea room and has many period items and decorations. The staff are warm and friendly and so welcoming that we immediately felt like wed known them for ages. However, plans changed when we saw the extent of the menu and specials board we had full meals! Our family had Sweet chilli rice chicken which was very tasty, The Ploughman's lunch was huge with plenty of cheese, tomato, pickle and bread that could not all be eaten. The 6 hour braised steak was full of meat cooked beautifully and I had liver and onions that I only just managed to finish. All the meals were cooked to perfection and presented with such care and attention. I know their menu is changing for the winter but we will happily revisit as soon as we are able. This is so much more than just a Tea Room. Thank you so very much for a wonderful meal with great food and great staff. See you...
Read moreWe’re on holiday in the area and needed somewhere to pop into for a late lunch. I found a recommendation for this coffee shop on a Facebook page for Oswestry.
We had a panini and coffee each, plus a slice of carrot cake to share. It was all very lovely and you could tell it was home made.
It’s dog friendly too, which was a real bonus for us considering we’re unable to leave him at the lodge where we’re staying on his own. They brought him a bowl of water and even offered him a sausage!
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and it had a lovely local feel, nearly everyone was greeted by name. We even got chatting to a regular who said how much he enjoys coming here, which says it all. Definitely a place we’d happily return to if we’re ever back...
Read moreDaz and his Wife and team, are without doubt 'Top Draw'. He, was friendly curtious and genuine. He served me on Friday, and nothing was to much for him. Being both chefs and waiting on, allowed him to point out the new soup that was taking over from his mushroom that had just sold out. My partner had the best Turkey, stuffing and cranberry pannini's, she's had. My soup was amazing, and eaten with a lovely home made roll. . It was so lovely that we returned the next morning, and the had the pleasure of being served with the same courtesy by Dazis wife Ratchel and a young assistant . It was a lovely atmosphere. I am a firm favourite to frequent as often as I am able to. Congratulations to both you...
