We attended a religious exhibition at the Discovery Centre, I have a Blue Badge and parked in a disabled space near the door. I was horrified to get a parking penalty charge. I have phoned the Cathedral Office, just an answering machine, and emailed twice with no response whatsoever. The parking company has rejected my appeal saying their signage is perfectly legal and clear. I disagree. I would have paid if I had known that I had to. This may be 'legal' but is it moral or Christian? I am disgusted and will never go back. In fact, if this is how the Catholic Church is treating people now then I want nothing more to do with it. It's not like it was, no longer cares about people and no different from any other hypocritical groups. They should try reading about a visit Jesus made to the Temple. I'm utterly disgusted. The cathedral itself is one of the simplest decorated Catholic churches I have ever been in and would suit the Vatican, as opposed to the opulence in Rome, charging its own parishioners money to see previous Popes ridiculously priced clothing and the dome's whispering gallery. As an aside, be careful going to ST Mark's in Venice, the original "bronze" horses, stolen from Constantinople are not those on the upper facade.
