All of the staff clearly love what they do at Other World Escapes, their passion and enthusiasm shines through. When we were stuck they gave us hints but let us crack the puzzles, so they were helpful but didn’t say too much - we still felt like we solved it. The interactive characters are all SO creative and hilarious. The rooms have clearly been thought about and designed with huge attention to detail and with some of the most quirky puzzles we have ever done in an escape room. my mum and I played Vermillion and Chip Shop and both were great games. My favourite was the latter, hers the former. The venue was nice and the staff were all really welcoming, they sold some other small games such as the Exit ones and a couple of bottled drinks. The Vermillion room was a more ‘your typical escape room’ but in a good way, as in lots of codes and padlocks in quite a linear puzzly format. The Chip Shop room was more quirky and had lots that I wouldn’t have expected to see, it really kept us guessing and I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of the puzzles in this room. Both rooms had a clue system which made the room very interactive, which I always appreciate.

We were lucky enough to have Francisca for both of our games, and she was great. She built a rapport with us really quickly and made us laugh during the games with her witty remarks. She always let us knew if there was something important we should be aware of, and was very quick at responding when we asked for help. I was organising a team building event for 24 people and from all of the Escape Rooms in Portsmouth, Other World Escapes were able to accommodate all of us. From the initial enquiry, options were discussed with full costs and provided in a timely manner. Gareth was extremely friendly, helpful and open to our questions. The day came and they were on time with starting the games, took us in group-by-group to sign in, go through game do's and don'ts and then the storyline of the room. I did the Pub Lock Inn with Beky as our games master. She was really fun, helped us out when we needed it and didn't give too much away when we were stuck on clues. It was just enough for us to then figure out where we were stuck! The other 2 groups had similar feedback where they loved their room, found it challenging enough but were able to get hints when needed.
