On this occasion we visited level for our son's birthday party we had 11 children with us on arrival we parked at the Preston bus station and with had issue with the parking machine which delayed me I then received a phone call from one of the parents of a child at the party saying that my party have been cancelled this was not the case. There was much confusion as I arrived at the bowling counter and asked why was that my party had been cancelled apparently I had called earlier that day to say that most of the party had come down with a sickness and diarrhoea bug. I explained that this was definitely not me who had cold and it was definitely not at all party I at this point has 11 children who were all over the place and we were trying to reorganize the party and get it back on the system there was at this point no apology or even accept it and acknowledgement that this was their error and not mine the party was put back on to the system by this point we had lost 20 minutes of the party and we were trying to maintain and contain the 11 children that were actually at the party and not lose any of them are Party Planner was extremely helpful and very apologetic about the misunderstanding she took us down to play Mini Golf and showed us the party room which have not been set-up due to the misunderstanding she confirmed our food order we went round the mini golf course and that lasted about 45 minutes. we went into the food room the party room and use the karaoke machine which the children really enjoyed singing Their Hearts out to the greatest showman etc. the food is absolutely exceptional really good value for money the pizza in chips that each child received was extremely good value for money plenty of food and a constant supply of cordial kept all of them nice and hydrated. we were then taken upstairs to the bowling alley by this point we had obviously already missed 20 minutes of our party and we only actually had 20 more minutes until parents started to arrive to collect their children, when we got upstairs it became apparent that actually the bowling alley wasn't ready for as a tool by this point I started to express how disappointed I was the fact that when I derived my stress levels were increased by the fact that my party had been cancelled off the system when it wasn't my party that have been cancelled at all I wanted a little bit more explanation on this and why it was at the bowling alley wasn't very for us by this point parents were collecting their children and we haven't even started bowling the Party Planner wanted to go and find out a bit more information about what had gone on and it turned out that when the party had been put back on to the system he has also been put back onto the system with a 30 minute delay so the 20 minutes we've lost with the confusion at the start and the 30 minutes delay on system ment we were almost an hour behind, had this been communicated to me at the beginning of the party I could have got in touch with children's parents so that they could collect the children at a later time or we could have arranged a car share for the children to get home. In the end the manager of the shift that day came over and explained what had happened they offered me a refund on all of the bowling which was fine as we didn't really have half of the party there anymore and we only opened one lane, they assured me that this was only a one-off situation and normally things run much smoother I did give some feedback on how things like a party cancellations due to same surnames don't happen and that would be a simple thing as to downloading a form and your party actually having a party number as opposed to being under a party name. I hope they took my feedback constructively and in the end Kai did have a really good birthday party. Read moreBeen here a few times mainly attending parties with my children. The the last few times we have been including my own sons party was very disappointing. Extremely disorganized no communication or hosting of any kind from staff. When we arrived we were left stood in the entrance for 30 minutes to then be informed bowling was overbooked so the children would do laser tag first which is no problem but think a 30 minute delay is excessive for a booked party!.
When taking my son who is a wheelchair user to get his vest and gun for laser tag the staff member attended to all the other children leaving my son out presuming he wouldn’t be joining in, my husband had to ask for him to assigned to a team and if he hadn’t my son would of been left out in this day and age not acceptable at all.
Staff member had no idea about inclusion and wasn’t interested either and made the situation very awkward, my son is 7 and just wanted to participate with the rest of his friends. There was a lot of waiting around and no communication at all from staff a lot of standing around for the party with no idea or direction. During bowling a ball got stuck in the lane, we requested assistance twice no one came, after 15 minutes of waiting holding up the whole game (the party was already way behind) went down the lane and moved the ball, 10 seconds later a lady (think was manager) very rudely and abruptly told me I should of asked for assistance, whilst trying to explain we already had done so twice she tried to talk over me informing me only staff can remove a stuck ball. No issue with being told if I’ve done wrong but she was extremely rude with no customer service or interpersonal skills at all.
My son has cerebral palsy and struggles with coordination, twice he pushed his ball off the training ramp before the barriers had come down to clear the pins, a young man came and told me rather abruptly “ he needs to make sure he waits until the barriers have gone up”, I told him he was trying his best and he was still trying to get his timing right, the man tutted and walked off.
I think Level need to put their staff through some intensive customer service training but should seriously address the lack of inclusion and disability awareness!. Not impressed Level. Too many bad experiences so won’t...
Read moreWHAT A RIP OFF SHAMBLES!!!!!! Me, my partner and 2 year old daughter travelled here from blackburn. On arrival we was told we could only book one game of bowling. ( this was not a busy period).We wanted more but we agreed and paid £28 for ONE game of bowling!! When we went to our lane there was dirty glasses on the table. Never the less we continued to start bowling, we got upto the 5th bowl and my daughter was hungry we got told we couldn't eat food on the bowling alley( fair enough) and told to sit in the dining area, so we did, when arriving back to the bowling alley to continue our game it had gone off. When approaching the lazy staff member who had no customer service skills whatsoever she said they took it off as there was no activity for over 20 minutes as i asked her if she could put it back on, she said the best she could do was give us a new game but we would have to wait. I had an impatient 2 year old who was frustrated that we couldn't go and finish our game. We would also then would have had to pay extra for parking. I then asked for a refund and told of the "manger" that we would have to email the general manager. So we paid £28 for 5 turns at bowling!! The cost of living is hard enough so when choosing to spend money here, we should be treat properly the staff are so rude stood on there phones, talking to each other, I've come away feeling ripped off and my daughter is very upset. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! This was 1st January 2023
Reply to the owner I would like you to reply to my review please as I have addressed and detailed more issues. Also your staff told us we had to sit down to eat in the dining area to( which is fine ) so your staff did know we was there and had left the alley. Also if this the rules then your staff should clearly state the procedure that you cannot leave the bowling alley for longer than 20 minutes. However they can't even provide suitable customer service so they may find this difficult. We did not demand a refund we asked for a refund as they wasn't able to meet our needs.
