Can't fault the staff, service or the gorgeous decor, absolutely fantastic, but for me I can't eat any of their food because it's way too spicy for me. I went here when they first opened and after not being able to eat the extra spicy food served to me and leaving hungry I vowed never to go again. My sons asked what restaurant I would like to ho to. The Farmers Arms is my favourite, but I've been craving Idian food for ages, so I said can we have Indian please for a change. However the meal last night my sons unwittingly booked for my birthday. I absolutely love a Indian Chicken Tikka masala and the starters especially. This restaurant is not Indian though. I don't think my son's realised this. We started with poppadoms and the sauces, which was sooo yummy. I ordered onion bhaji's,but took one bite and my mouth was on fire and Ijust couldn't get the taste out of my mouth or stop my tongue from stinging, tge keema naan bread was nice and I asked for a mild chicken tikka masala(knowing last time I couldn't eat my food). I should've said creamy, but forgot and said mild instead. The waiter told me they don't do a mild one and gave me their best alternative, yet my Grandchildren were given it,which totally threw me! As soon as I saw the yummy red sauce I knew it was Tikka masala! I was so disappointed in the waiter for swaying my choice of curry. The curry I was given was awful. I probably had half a mouthful in 3 staged, determined to live it. I was starving! Like I said I can't fault the restaurant or their food,I just can't eat spicy food. Not even chilli sauce. It's nobody's fault it was meant with a good heart and I love that my son's put such an effort for me for my birthday and I really appreciate it all. I couldn't put 1 or 2 stars because the restaurant is amazing, just not for me and I definitely not be going again. Next time I'll proactively say to whoever please do not take me to...

It was definitely a place with a difference. When you enter, a lady at the reception welcomes you and seats you into very plush chairs in the waiting area, which is next to the bar. Within a few minutes, they take you to a table and she leaves.

From then until you get your food on the table, it was a lot of disorganised effort by the serving staff. That continued through the meal. One had to catch the eye of, wave to, or actually call out to one of them to ask for something. No one came to check if we were getting along well or needed something.

Mango lassi was served without glasses; we asked someone to come and take my friend's drinks order, but no one came; our water jug ran out of water and no one came to refill it; and so on

On to the decor: a very elaborate ceiling with plastic flowers and ribbons everywhere, but a trashy floor. Tables weren't cleaned and a lot of leftover food was on the floor between the tables.

The food: we had two different starters. The lamb seekh kebabs were average. The paneer grill was superb. For the main course, we had a g-g chicken and a tarka dal. We had both with a tandoori roti. The chicken was average too.

Service: this was really below-par.

Overall: **

P.S. A friend and I went for a repeat visit. Once again, we ordered seekh kababs. The lamb variety tasted great, but the chicken variety was tasteless. We had a nihari lamb. It was average. The flesh was very less. The bone had no marrow.

We also had mocktails, and these...

Here with a large group to celebrate a birthday. I arrived slightly later while other's were still waiting for their starter's. I quickly prompted a waiter to order a beer, & requested a menu/drinks menu & to refill our jug of water. They were busy but not overly. My dri k arrived promptly to our table, poppadoms & chutney tray arrived, whilst I quickly decided on my main meal. The food was ok, I requested Prawn Rogan Josh Asian spice style with plenty chilli's, but it came bland & the meal didn't come with rice /naan it's ordered extra. When the bill arrived they refused to split the bill individually, so we all made a bank transfer to one individual who had been given a receipt & worked out individually what we owed. The receipt was wrong, they tried to charge me with King Prawn Rogan Josh, but I just had shrimps, this was rectified after discussion with the till person ref our bill, also your charged £1 per poppadom, & also £3.95 for a large chutney tray with various condiments, I was very surprised at this because all Asian restaurants I've visited don't charge for the chutney tray/poppadoms. I won't be visiting here again, & I don't recommend it either, it is extremely overpriced for the average tasting food, their was hardly any spice in my food. The decor in the restaurant is elaborate, it is a real shame the food didn't deliver the same to my high expectations. Our large party spent over £200 as a whole, & I was regrettably...

I'll start with the positive. The food is outstanding and probably one of the best curries I've had in years, the pilau rice actually tastes of something unlike most restaurants. The giant naan is a little gimmick but good value (just needs more garlic butter) The service was great. Friendly and not overly intrusive and drinks kept on flowing (as reflected on the bill, the drinks are incredibly expensive here) However, now for the downside. I went out with friends with the hope of having a catch up over some good food. Well unfortunately due to the loud music and loud guests it was barely possible to speak to the person next to you. They'd arranged a large table behind me who had to crawl under their table to get out, which meant alot of shoving and prodding of our table due to lack of room. So in short, foods great, service is fantastic, atmosphere leaves alot to be desired.
