I'm not going to lie, before the pandemic I undervalued the absolute hell out of Kelvingrove Park. I live about a five-minute walk away from this gem and it's always an absolute pleasure walking through it to get to university. That being said, during the lockdown I started using it more to get my daily exercise and was truly astonished by some of the hidden away areas you can find in the park! Sitting on the riverbank, especially during the summer months (whatever that means in Glasgow of course) is something my soul needed often. And will continue to need! The views from the hill at the top of Kelvingrove overlooking the university from below is an absolute treasure! Lovely spot to sit for a few minutes or even a while longer with a book/podcast/music. Have seen people grilling along the riverside as well with small grills, not sure if it's allowed, but if it is, I can only recommend it! Would recommend Kelvingrove park to anyone visiting Glasgow and staying near the University of Glasgow. Glasgow Green can be lovely too, however it's not uncommon for it to fill up when the weather gets nice and everyone runs out to greet the sun!

A thoroughly enjoyable Sunday afternoon spent with my family, basking in the sunshine while enjoying our picnic. Location wise, the park sits south of Hillhead and Woodlands - a short walk from the OVO Hydro as well. We parked on one of the side streets near Kelvin Hall - plenty of spaces, even on a busy day (pay attention to parking restrictions). We wandered along to the grassy area south of the Stewart Memorial Fountain and sat there for a while. The place was mobbed, but at no point did it defer from a friendly, family atmosphere. We done a loop around the grounds, taking in the park next to the ‘An Clachan Café’ and ending up at the amphitheatre, where we watched part of a ‘Pitch Perfect’ style gig. The whole area was massive and we only touched a fraction of it, in the two hours we were there. In the end, the heat was getting the better of the boys so we headed for the car to get home. Certainly a place we’d visit again, maybe next time picking a cooler day. Impressed by the surrounding eating establishments as well, so definitely keen to explore them!

Such a gorgeous park. I cannot say enough about this park. I live only 2 minutes away in a student accommodation named Student Roost. I am supremely happy that I found this place to stay during my studies, here, in Glasgow. The park is a great spot for a picnic with friends and family. Great place for some barbecuing. Amazing area to walk your dogs. It is widely spread in terms of space and you can always find a quiet place for yourself if you want to read a book or just sit down on a bench to admire the spectacular view. You can go for running and do your routine exercises here. This park is even more vibrant during Spring because of the amazing colours of leaves and flowers you will get to see. I have personally spent many afternoons and evenings in this park with my friends. I can't say enough. I have clicked hundreds of pictures that I cherish every day and cannot wait to go down to the park again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
