Had an unscheduled stopover in Glasgow due to travel issues caused by storms.
Fancied heading out for a bite to eat and a drink in the evening- pub came up recommended online. The good reviews were spot on as it's a lovely pub.
The place looks great and historic, inside and out. Lots of cozy spots to sit and chill- my type of place. Everything was clean and well-kept, including the toilets.
Quite a few customers were there for food and the meal I had was excellent (Cajun chicken and fries) and pretty good value. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful.
Pub is obviously known for its large whisky selection- it's pretty impressive and I sampled a few. There's a great selection to try for whisky lovers. Plenty of everything else too if you're not into whisky.
Can't really criticise anything. It's a lovely pub, not far from major transport hubs, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Also has football on TV. Staff are excellent, foods good and if you're into whisky, it's a...
Read moreAwwww man, this place, the whiskies, the staff - everything about it was great. We only popped in for a wee dram each and the welcome and service was everything we could have asked. Real friendly and knowledgable bar staff. Gave us all the time he could. Talked us through whisky options, checked with us what we were happy with spending first - so know price ambushes or pushy selling. Just a genuine whisky lover sharing his passion and a world of knowledge. Being a local pub, it would have been easy to feel an outsider, but no, the staff made it a highlight of our weekend in Glasgow.
Recommended, whatever your knowledge and experience of whisky, they will meet you where you're at and you'll be...

Sat for some food and I had the garlic mushrooms as starter, not the brake bros frozen ones these were the real deal, tasty tasty, salt/chilli chicken burger main and I'd say one of the tasties burgers I've ever had. We were back in today and place was quiet, steak pie I had and partner had the chilli, both meals fantastic and I'd say the menu as a whole is value for money. If anyone is ever in town and wants good old fashioned pub grub then this the place I'd recommend all day long, great atmosphere and friendly...
