Great place if you like to chill out and pass the time of day or turn your hands to water sports. The North end of the lake is free to use for paddleboarders and sailers alike, also during buissness hours you will see the jet boat ripping around and the lake cruiser too. The are both accessed via the jeti near the cafe, by Silcocks funland. Further south (by the fair) you can also rent pedalos with some variations on swans and tricycles. If you do go paddleboarding/swimming etc I would recommend wearing water shoes as there is alot of waste thrown into the lake, and also bedded with duck,geese and Swan poop, worth noting too this lake is fed via a sea gate, so the salt water does offer some good buoyancy, providing you don't...
Read moreThe marine lake is looking a lot better since they restored the walk bridge over the lake and opened up the visibility by cutting back the over growth. The lake does look a lot prettier for it. When the sun is shining and the town is thriving with tourism it really does have a good feeling and a sense of pride for my town when I can see the spots that reflect on the towns reputation so much are being looked after.
