Sheffield & Tinsley Canal — Attraction in Sheffield

I have been a regular visitor to Sheffield and Tinsley Canal for many many years, either fishing, biking or a nice walk. It is a totally different place from the canal of 30+ years ago when Sheffield was recovering from the demise of the steel industry. It is a hidden gem many simply drive past to Meadowhall. Really good walk ways/tow paths. Well stocked popular angling. Beautiful canal basins with narrow boats, house boats. Lots of nature, wildlife, birds. A nice walk along here is good...

A superb Sunday morning walk from valleys to Victoria quay along the canal. Lots of wildlife and no humans at 6 am. More bridges than traffic as well. I walk home this way most Sundays starting last October and its only been the last couple of times I have actually been able to see everything around me. Usually it's is in total darkness. Won't be long until the kingfishers and dragonflies are about to greet me as I head home...

Very relaxing walk next to the canal. The best way to count your foot steps. Green natural area with wild beauty. Birds, bugs, wild flowers along side the canal. Not bad even for boating.
