I have been a regular visitor to Sheffield and Tinsley Canal for many many years, either fishing, biking or a nice walk. It is a totally different place from the canal of 30+ years ago when Sheffield was recovering from the demise of the steel industry. It is a hidden gem many simply drive past to Meadowhall. Really good walk ways/tow paths. Well stocked popular angling. Beautiful canal basins with narrow boats, house boats. Lots of nature, wildlife, birds. A nice walk along here is good for your soul

Very relaxing walk next to the canal. The best way to count your foot steps. Green natural area with wild beauty. Birds, bugs, wild flowers along side the canal. Not bad even for boating. There's many bridges on the way in different styles which are creating drama. You meet a lot of people and getting a lot of stories. Different way to. Spend a day. This canal has 9 locks.

Great place to go canoeing. You can park and launch at tinsley park road. Its probably a six mile round trip to Sheffield and back without any locks.
