We tried to visit the castle and tower on Sunday but was disappointed to find it closed. We managed to find a spare half an hour Monday to come visit. It's a lovely tower with limited views of Shrewsbury. The tower itself was closed which was slightly deflating so missed the chance to see a better view from up the tower. Lovely little castle though so worth a look.

This is a nice place to visit, especially on a sunny day. There are steps on the walkway up, but they are shallow and well spaced out. Once up beside the tower you get lovely views of the river. It is surrounded by trees so you don't get 360° outlook.

Charming little tower on the grounds of the castle. Fantastic views of the canal, castle and town. Worth a look. The tower is not an open tower though.
