Silloth west beach — Attraction in Silloth-on-Solway

Come here to get the wide open spaces with fantastic views over to Scotland. The beach here is sand graduating down towards the sea to estuary mud, but it is mostly really good for walking or horse riding and definitely for walking the dog! There's a good choice between the shore and the grass covered sand dunes, and there's paths cutting across the internationally famous links golf course that the public is able to use (with care!)....

This place is a hidden gem. Lovely place to visit especially on a sunny warm day. They have a small water park, big grass areas, a little train and the most beautiful beach. There is also a lovely ice cream shop and the ice cream is amazing. I would recommend visiting here especially if you have kids...

Another lovely long stretch of sandy and pebbly beach that I stopped off at on my journey across the country. It was well worth visiting, I had a nice walk past a golf course, sticking to the path, and then a walk on the beach. I would say that this would be a good beach for families...
